Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston's child support battle is getting more and more heated!
Levi is saying that it's impossible for him to pay $1750 a month to support their son Tripp because of his "erratic" income. Team Bristol's response:
"Bristol is hopeful that Levi will obtain work in 2010. She is encouraged that he acknowledged in court his obligation to pay child support and that he acknowledged paying $4,400 in the last 14 months.
"Bristol expects to mediate a child visitation schedule with Levi that balances Tripp's need to be with his father with Levi's need to travel and seek work."
Sounds like legalese for "get your shiz together, Levi!" Make sure you send over some of your Playgirl money!

Average in Canada is about $150-300 a month per child. Why does she get that much, especially when she lives with her parents and doesn't have any rent to pay? Keeping a kid in food and clothes does NOT cost $1750 a month…

Maybe they make her pay rent or there won't be enough room to accommodate the child when he gets big enough to need his own room. As well as housing, there are doctors' bills and daycare. I don't like the Palins either, but that is not important here. What is important is that it costs a LOT of money to have a child. Levi needs to get a job so that he can pay his share.

Re: lifesaabeach – She is obviously not relying on him to pay for "everything" because he has hardly paid anything! Also, if she gets a job, who is going to take care of the baby?? She is extremely lucky that she has parents who are letting her live at home right now. There are a lot of women out there who have deadbeat baby-daddies like Levi, but who can't rely on their parents for help and do have to work + take care of the kid. Levi is a deadbeat and he needs to pay his share.

Personally I think the kid HAS his "shiz" together you moron and it at least trying. The Palins need to realize that they were part of the reason why he has his little 15 minutes of fame and its natural for him to get as much out of it as he can. But he seems to really want to be with his kid and spend time with him which is more than most his age want to do. He's not going to be making huge amounts of $ next year so she needs to get off her high horse and let the courts decide what the appopriate amount of support is. I can guarantee that it won't be $1500/month the greedy little bitch.

Re: Apt. 54 – You say you don't like the Palins but you sure like to support them. It takes BOTH people to support THEIR child, therefore she can be like every other yougn single mom out there. Get a babysitter/daycare, get a job and help pay for raising your son. He has willingly given her a lot of money over the past year, so your "get a job" quote is just a snotty remark like what the Palins would say. Yes, its expensive to raise a child, but you cannot tell me that she does not get quite a bit of help from her own family, lives in a huge house (that's mainly empty with Sarah selling herself out everywhere). Bristol is not a "poor little me" so quit trying to make her out to be. Cuz you are.

Re: MyOpinionOnly – She IS supporting the child. The kid lives with her. To afford to hire childcare, she would need to get a job that pays more than what the childcare would cost. She has no qualifications, so that's unlikely. Levi needs to pay his share, period. It is not up to Levi to decide what Bristol's family can afford to pay. The kid is his responsibility and he is a deadbeat.

$1,750 for just one child seems majorly steep to me. That amount looks to me like she wants financial support, too, so to suggest that HE get a job to come up with that total looks a bit greedy to me.
Oh, come ON!!! Like him or not, normal people get a few hundred a month for child support for one child. WHY should Bristol get paid like a queen? You can't imagine that a young guy like Levi will be able to make that kind of money, outside of his Playgirl spread. Let HER ear that kind of money if she wants it. He need's to forget about Hollywood and get back to his roots and find a job and support his son. If the support paymts. are more then he can handle he can go back to court and show proof of his income and have the support modified until he get's a better paying job. Beware though that when ever you make more money your child support will go up and it should for the sake of the child. Why should her parents pay for his and her child. This is their responsibility to take care of their son not the grandparents. The mother need's to work as well to help support her son. This is called growing up and being responsible parents.
Re: rudy96 – They shouldn't, but they might have to by default, seeing as how they didn't prepare Bristol beforehand or spring for proper birth control in the first place so this wouldn't have happened at all.
$1,750 a month? What idiotic court decides that a 19 year old has to pay $21K/year to help support a baby? Is Bristol contributing equally? She should be. If so, are the courts figuring that it costs $42K per year to raise a baby? Absolutely ridiculous. I know that daycare is expensive, but this is crazy.
