We've just gotten word that as of today, Lady GaGa's album The Fame has become the best-selling digital album of all time recorded by a solo artist.

To date, it has sold 605,000 copies!

Way to go Gagaloo! Dominating the musical world one record at a time!

Her music is catchy, but she is just a re-treaded combination of Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, the 90s clubkid scene, and a dash of Andy Warhol. I am tired of her, your obsession with her, and reading about her every five seconds on your page.

      You are also so freaking hypocritical it is laughable. You trash a certain celebrity for one thing and then praise another for doing the exact same thing. You have the balls to call people fat. You say the NASTIEST things about people and then are surprised and upset and expect sympathy when people punch you in the face for it.

      OK - here's the real deal. It's funny to watch people argue about who is better but the answer is in black and white. Although Lady Gaga is sort of unique, most of her image is a hodge podge of other artists, namely Madonna. If you watch her live, she actually says things that Madonna says at her concerts ie: "You havin a good time!?" (audience screams), long pause…"me too" (audience screams) "HAHAHA" It's Madonna verbatim! She doesn't want to be seen as being heavily influenced by Madonna which means she no doubt has been. Madonna's arrival on the scene was a progression…a former club act who got a record deal and the phenomenon slowly grew. She may not have had 5 #1's off her first album, but it was a different time. People didn't have the access to music the way they have today. However, after selling millions of albums and dropping a second album, Madonna influence was societal and way more controversial. The public was fascinated by who she was…the sexualized Catholic virgin who was unafraid. Gaga has had no such effect. The only fascinating things about Gaga are superficial… The outfits, the slightly odd monster motif etc. Little girls are not fighting with their mother's to listen to her or dress like her.

Whether you hate her for being vulgar, or love her for being brutally honest …or hate her for supposedly being manipulative and formulaic, or love her for those very reasons, you have an opinion. Everyone does. Is she a virgin or a vamp? A nun or a prostitue? A Catholic or an athiest? smart or stupid? egotistical or hard working? This is the stuff legends are made of. Gaga's success is well deserved but the "next Madonna" won't look anything like her or her career. It will be someone with something completely new and interesting to say who has such an impact…that those in power hate her and those who love her worship her. Gaga just doesn't have it.       I agree that her popularity is waning a bit. Her latest single "Telephone" has been on the Hot 100 for 11 weeks now and only sits at number 16, while "The Fame Monster" EP has fallen out of the Top 10 on the album chart and sits without a bullet at #12. Her album "The Fame" only saw a modest bump in sales from her Grammy appearance and she opened the show. Meanwhile, an artist like P!nk saw an over 100% increase in sales after her performance and her album moved from somewhere in the low 60s into the top 20 after the Grammy show. I just think that maybe the fascination with Gaga is dying down a little.

      Relax queens, I am not saying she is horrible or untalented. I just think her schtick is running it's course.

      605k LEGAL DIGITAL DOWNLOADS. It would've been millions if not for the online pirates. Back in the day, it was so easy to sell millions of records because there are no music pirates. Thats why Madonna and Michael Jackson still hold lots of records under their belts. The artists nowadays would have no chance to attain those figures. The pirates should be crushed.
      I think if someone would conduct a survey GaGa would be the most illegally downloaded artist of all time too, LOL. I see a lot of her stuff leaking on the internet.
