    1. 1

      i was disappointed =(

    2. 2

      AWESOME!

    3. 3

Justin Bieber shouldn't have opened this song, he sounds like a fucking chipmunk. And Miley Cyrus' voice was flat, even with the producing that was done. Adam Levine was a nice blend. Fergie has a strong voice, I really like her voice.

Lil Wayne used auto tune, of fucking course.
As did Akon and T-pain. T-pain definitely overdid it.

LLCOOLJ…. really, is he relevant anymore?
they should've just let your enemy, Will.iam do it :)

I'm so sick of this Haiti shit. They already have billions and billions of OUR dollars. Hey, what about that job plan, Obama. Hey, what about restoring New Orleans, Obama. The money from this star studded remake should stay in OUR backyard where it is greatly needed right now.

    5. 5

the fact that miley cyrus sings after BARBRA STREISAND and fergie after celine is a disgrace. the fact that lil' wayne, t-pain and akon, who cannot SING without AUTOTUNE are even featured is an insult to the original, and
RAP? REALLY? RAPPING WE ARE THE WORLD? classy

    6. 6

I'm just glad that the Queen of Pop Lady GaGa is not part of this mess.

    7. 7

AH-MAZ-ING.except im with the guy below me Justin beiber shouldn't have opened the song. Micheal Jackson would have been a WAY better choice. i mean com on. it is HIS original song.

    8. 8

this was pathetic. it had none of the sincerity of the original. it was like "hey remember when we were kids and they had that song, "we are the world"? lets do that!

    9. 9

This was pretty cool. All in the spirit of the Olympics and Haiti relief!

    10. Elph says – reply to this

      10

Fucking Bieber, Miley, Will.I.Am. and auto tune ruined it. I wish they didn't remake this song. They should have come up with a new one.

    11. 11

that was the biggest mess since william hung.

    12. 12

They did a good job. The most amazing part was, of course, Michael Jackson. RIP

    13. 13

Nothing like the original. Judging by the intention it was great. Judging by the end result, it was ok.

    14. 14

Re: chillwiththat – Yeah I agree, Justin Bieber shouldn't have opened the song, and Miley shouldn't have even been involved!!! When is she going to disappear??? She ruined the whole thing. I am a little bit disappointed though. I would have definitely added and taken out a few of the people involved.

    15. 15

      i got goosebumps

    16. SPGR says – reply to this

      16

Wyclef's weird warbling totally ruined it for me….

    17. 17

this lineup makes me miss 1985 so much. :(

    18. 18

justin beiber should'nt have opened the song, it just didn't sound right. Tpain and Lil wayne should just quit music because all they're giving us is autotuned crap. but everything else was great! I am glad they kept Michael in.

    19. 19

horrible!! First off i can't take lil wayne seriously and what's with the rapping?? i can't believe they touched a classic!

    20. 20

      The Rap.. Why???????

    21. 21

You forgot to mention HAITIAN Wyclef Jean

    22. 22

Lil Wayne totally fucked up the song! Most of the rapper's shouldn't have been there. Rap isn't music, not saying it isn't good, just not in the same genre as music, Celine Dion is music. All in all this was a fantastic song! I loved it

PS Kanye, P!nk, Josh Groban and Barbara were my faveorites!

    23. 23

Nicole Richie???What the fuck??? Since when was she ever an entertainer….or famous for anything legit?

    24. 24

      Horrific.

    25. 25

micheal jackson would be horrified to find out all the crap that was done to this song.

    26. 26

      Absolutely Horrendous!

    27. 27

Akon, Lil Wayne and T Pain should be cut out…put Jay Z in the mix in the rapping and that part could have been better….WHY ON EARTH did Justin Beiber start it, jesus he's just a tween sensation when he hits puberty that voice is gone(THANK GOD) I would've been impressed if Chris Martin, Alicia Keys, or Madonna were in the mix….Eh ill give it a B+

    28. 28

Ehh I didnt care for it at all. There are just some classics that you should not touch. This being one of them. The only part I liked was Janet and Michael. I didn't like that Jamie Foxx was trying to sound like Ray Charles.

    29. 29

pretty good except why was lil wayne there, this is preaching care for others, isn't he in major trouble for having an illegal gun and going to jail? also auto tune should not have been used!!!!

    30. 30

It's great and of course Michael Jackson was irreplaceable!

    31. 31

To all of you slamming Justin and Miley and all the younger generation, shame on all of you. The video is to raise funds towards the Haiti relief. Who cares if they got the worst or the best talent in the world to remake it, in the end they did something positive about it which is WAY more then all the negative energy that spews from your mouths.

And as far as the US needing to take care of its own problems first before helping the outer world. Wake the f*ck up, the US doesn't owe you shit. We don't owe you a job or a car or any financial help. It's called get the f*ck up off your lazy ass, take responsibility, grab life by the balls and do something for yourself instead of complaining Me Me Me oh poooooor me.

    32. 32

This was actually pretty good. Justin should have NOT opened the song, it should've stayed as Lionel Richie (to the person who said MJ- Lionel originally opened the song & he co-wrote it with Michael, unless Michael recorded the first part too, it would be impossible for MJ's voice to open the song since we assume he never sang it). Miley was good, I don't get the criticism. And I liked Nick Jonas's descants, he actually has a good voice for the song!

    33. 33

Re: suthernpeach – good one! haha

    34. 34

bieber are you kidding me? so glad Gaga wasn't part of this mess.

    35. 35

love the version, but i had a critic AUTOTUNE? seriously COME ON! can you stop using it for ONE FUCKING SONG LIL WAYN, AKON…?

    36. 36

Ok this SUCKS! Auto-Tune and rapping on this classic song..I bet MJ is rolling over in his grave as we speak that hes even a part of this version. But ill give credit to Celine, P!nk , Jhud, and MJ( original vocals) they really stood out vocally to me. Wish we would have seen Whitney, mariah(maybe) , stevie , paul mccartney, elton ect ( some of the powerhouse Icons on there)

    37. 37

That was awful. So many people did not need to be there, and if they did, they should have made a completely different song. Akon, T-Pain and Lil Wayne with their synthesizers?? Really?! This version was truly an insult to the original. Miley and that Bieber boy? I don't get it. None of it made sense.

    38. 38

OMG i HATE how Usher is compared to Micheal Jackson. He is trying to be just like Micheal but will NEVER achieve it! Ugh Usher sucks!!! I don't think no one can compare to Micheal Jackson.

    39. 39

Just like the old version,Michael Jacksons part is the best of the song!

    40. 40

Re: Elph – i agree with u. they SHOULD have wrote a new song. now this sad attempt will forever be compared to the original and will lose in the comparison as it should. that young kid in the beginning, justin bieber was just weird. celine dion (who always over sings) destroyed cyndi laupers very original take on her part. barbra streisand (another over singer) wasnt right for what i think was diana ross part. then there was the black guy towards the end making those weird sounds with his voice. the only thing i kind of liked was the rap part in the middle (and ONLY that part as the other rapping didnt fit at all) which i think gave the song a powerful feel to it. somewhere in the afterlife michael jackson is stunned at how they butchered a song he co wrote.

    41. 41

AND THE RAP? THAT TOTALLY FUCKED UP THE SONG!

      42

      I am Totaly

    43. 43

By the way a LOT of those people singing messed this song up just by them being in it. Like wtf i thought they could of done better..

    44. Laury says – reply to this

      44

Sorry but I'm not feeling this version at all. It sounds like they were more interested in making a star-studded pop tune than conveying a real message of hope and love. The use of auto-tune totally ruined the song for me. EPIC FAIL. Michael must be rolling in his grave right now.

    45. 45

HORRIBLE. Justin Bieber sounds and looks ridiculous in this. He is a 10 year old boy for heaven's sakes. And the autotune? What's all that about ?? Rapping? I was like, what the heck???

    46. 46

An insult. Truly awful! A completely new song should have been made. When is Miley Cyrus gonna disappear!!??

    47. Dawo says – reply to this

      47

Oh I forgot PINK :) SHE ROCKSSSSSSSSSSSS

    48. 48

I cried not going to lie

    49. 49

my face was like wtf when i saw this. and i totally started laughing when they started the rapping and autone. Why did Beiber, Cyrus, and Nick Jonas get solos? out of every singer in that room you had to pick the kiddy singers, yeah im sure most twelve year olds care about haiti. i was impressed with Groban, Jennifer, Celine, Barbra and Pink. They were the only good things. it was okay until i saw the rapping and autone. tehn i knew it was a fail and a mess. better try next time quincy and lionel.

    50. 50

Wow, that almost made me cry. But one question: why does Wyclef Jean sound like a yeti?

    51. Pac says – reply to this

      51

what the fuck wycleaf jean.. BIG NO NO

    52. 52

kudos to the collaboration…but just proves my point that Lil Wayne is talentless. Autotune? Really?

    53. 53

oh yeah and of course Michael and Janet were probably the best part.

    54. 54

      SING IT, MICHAEL!

    55. 55

Re: Lucas – people like you make me sad for mankind. a human being is a human being…and i don't care if they are 15 miles away from me or a million miles, just because they are not a part of "my country" doesn't mean they don't suffer like the next person. show some compassion…stop focusing on this country verse that country, look at the HUMAN BEINGS suffering and show some compassion.

    56. 56

Re: xsweetxheartx – Who the fuck compares Usher to MJ? I literally cannot name ONE Usher song. He's a talentless baboon as far as I'm concerned. Any time I see he's involved in something I just shake my head in shame for the human race.

    57. 57

Re: YoungCollegeGirl – No shit! Those Wyclef parts made me cringe…very akward! Made me uncomfortable.

    58. 58

      ok…good cause and all BUT….
WTF w/ Enriques line? Keep the God and his saviour crap out.
      AND: THE RAP PART SUCKED.

      Major FAIL!

      59

      Re: Dawo – Disapointed

Janet had no part in this song.lol shes sang 3 words with Micchael.lol 5 sec

    60. 60

I think that it's sad how many people are tired of hearing thing about Haiti. Some people are still stuck in the rubel and people are already saying I've heard enough, well its not going too go away on its own! I also think it's funny how people are saying that some celberties can't sing, well I would like to see you go up and sing. But I mean there obviouisly good enough to make it in hollywood. Thats all I have to say. :) I'm really happy there doing this and i have donated most deffinetly!

    61. 61

uggg just goes to show how shitty music is today,im sorry but justin bieber opening the song..WTF!!???miley cyrus and that rap part could def. do w/out…everyone else great…luv wyclef such an intelligent man and adam levine of course sexy as hell…loved the mj part!all in all "85" is still my pick!

    62. 62

I honestly didn't like the song. In my opinion instead of getting truly talented artists they got every musician with a big name on the recording, not because of there voice, but because it would draw attention.

    63. 63

      Ooo & pink rocked it!

    64. 64

Ohhh… wow!! they ruined the song! really auto tune! its a damn classic! they cant do that! and wth is with Justin opening( i love him but), Miley Cyrus was good. Also they should have put in Beyonce and Jay-Z that would have been awsome! 5:50- 6:32 omfg! that was omg! THEY RUINED IT! RAPPING LIKE REALLY?!!?! AND WHATS WITH THE HATISH SPEAKING GOD! love the original! man only good parts were like Jennifer Hudson and Celine Dion! but its good that rich people actully care about others…

    65. 65

Re: SeedyPetee – i know the original puts this to shame.

    66. 66

The rapping sucks, I hate when they had it to songs, there is no need. I really loved that Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Adam Levine. Justin Beiler was a HORRIBLE choice to start it, it would have been better with celine dion or something. Also what the heck Wyclef, I was enjoying the song and when he started the rap/noise thing, I didn't even want to listen any longer. By the way the reason Nicole Ritche is there because she was in the original one when she was younger

    67. 67

Were Wyclef's primal mating calls really necessary?? This is embarrassing..

    68. 68

This shit is beyond embarrassing for all involved. No wonder the top stars like Christina, Beyonce, Justin and Gaga stayed the eff away from this. I mean Jamie Foxx is imitating and mocking a very dead Ray Charles on a CHARITY song? Um, tacky and tasteless.

    69. 69

not as good as the original…the original actually had people that could sing…not trying to be a hater…I loved the hip-hop, but I could have gone with hearing t-pain and lil wayne singing…that's actually what made it suck.

    70. 70

Justin Bieber has too weak of a voice to open a song like this. I am sure all involved meant well, but by trying to redo something historic like this instead of doing something original (eg. like a new song), "it" becomes all about the stars and not the cause. The focus was way too much on the stars and not on Haiti.

    71. 71

i liked it. i didnt love it, but thought it was ok. What turned me off from loving it was:

      1. that fucking auto tune thing that lil wayne and (i think it was) Tpain used. It just sounds so fake. My husband and his friends use that auto tune when they play around and make tracks, it can make anyone sound good. but i think its just way to played out.

      2. I was hoping there would be more people from the rock genre. seeing all the rap and r&b stars is cool and all. but i'm sure throwing some rock in there would have made it much better.

      3. Why the hell was Vince Vaughn there?!?!?! thats just like in the original with Dan Aykroyd.

in all i thought it was ok. maybe they had to put it together fast so there wasnt enough time to plan it all out.

    72. 72

justin bieber? miley cyrus??? Nicole Richie? Where is the real (younger generation) star power? Where are the artists that have been influenced by Michael? Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Britney, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Neyo, Ciara….etc.??? Where are the Jackson 5? It would have been nice to have some of these people on the remake!

    73. 73

Joe Jonas & his glasses were the best part. LOL

JK (love him tho!)…Pink & Kanye were good, for me.

On the whole it was a little weird and iffy…but that's kind of the nature of We Are the World, lol.

    74. 74

Re: SPGR – how ignorant are you, he speaking Creole. Get out of your bubble and learn a little about the world. Pure ignorance.

    75. 75

Nick was all right, I thought he'd have more to do. I liked Miley's part & am I the nly one who thought lil Bieber was kinda sweet? I really have not heard him before. Such a wee lil thing.

    76. 76

I liked it….VINCE VAUGN SO RANDOM.

Anyone else surprised Celine Dion or Shania Twain is not singing at the Olympics?

    77. emick says – reply to this

      77

Everyone needs to understand that the music industry today is completely different than it was 25 years ago. You are the people who listen to these artists, buy their CDs, and download their songs. Why wouldn't they use them for this.. it is representing the current industry and the the types of artists and music we listen to today. They were not trying to reproduce the exact same song from 25 years ago. The song was revamped using the new technologies, the unique new voices, and new faces of today.

Now as for Nicole Richie.. her father co-wrote the original song. Of course she should be included. And Vince Vaughn was asked to participate… I know that if I was asked to be part of something that was for a great cause, raising money for those in need, and a chance to make a difference… I would be there in a heartbeat to show my support and to give my voice. And I am pretty sure you all feel the same. Just to be part of something like this is huge.

Bravo on the revamping of an already great song. Both will be remembered and appreciated for a very long time.

    78. 78

Loved Miley and celine Dions part I also liked Pink. The rap though was unnecessary

    79. 79

Oh but Wyclef….that was over the top. People are mocking the rap & the autotune but you know what….whoever's buying music in this country is responsible for making all that relevant, so I have no problem with it having a place in what is basically a survey of the current pop music landscape (which isn't as good as it was in the 80s). Anyway, I thought Wyclef's caterwauling was atrocious and disturbing as some sort of cultural representation of Haiti…I'm sure their thrilled?

    80. 80

WE ARE THE WORLD 25 = DUMB IDEA

it's a total debacle. QUINCY JONES should be arrested for laziness and assaulting the world's ears. peep my vid on youtube about it.

      82

Hoo boy…that was pretty spectacularly bad. Can we say auto-tune? Haiti deserved better.

    83. 83

Re: CandyEyes – I'm pretty sure that was the concept the first time, too.

    84. 84

Justin Bieber shouldn't have started. The rapping should have been out. Miley Cyrus and the other teen boppers should not have been cut. And the Auto Tune..ugh! And Wyclef just ruined the song. period.

    85. 85

Re: djspelbound – Really dude? Really? Lil Wayne has no talent? Lemme see you try to flow off the top of your head and make it sound AS good as Weezy. When he doesn't even write his stuff, it all comes from the top of his head? Can you do that? I think not.

    86. #1 says – reply to this

      86

I'm really happy Lady GaGa wasn't a part of this, because it sucks majah! individual amazing performances, but this is supposed to be a collaboration of good musicians putting together their talents to make something hopeful. It's not good enough. It's just low rate attempts at making something. it's like a parody of the original, not a complimentary one either.

    87. 87

I love the fact that they kept Michael apart of this and I love how they incorporated Janet. Very touching.

    88. 88

um are they going to re-make this song for every natural disaster every country has or just did it for Haiti because Haiti was like the IT disaster right now…?

    89. 89

Auto-tune, rap scenes, and Wiclef Jean…..hmmm, pretty horrible.

    90. 90

i just…dont want to watch it. why do celebrities have to get involved like they are the heros. im sorry, i just dont feel it necessary to watch right now :(

    91. 91

Re: sweetsweat – I totally agree
they should of probably waited and set a perfect date that would of been better for the better artists who have been influenced by Michael.
It looks like they were in a rush to make this so they just got some people who have the time to do it.The older version was wayy better
Michael Jackson,Tina Turner,Diana Ross,Ray,Stevie Wonder,..even Cyndi Lauper (who was huge at the time) ..even though they have the big names like Celine,Barbara Streisand mixing them up with these other shitty artist was soo stupid.Im sure in many years from now kids will be looking at this video saying "why did they have justin, miley, nicole richie, julian hough? they are nobodies now".This song shouldnt even have been remaked ,especially not like this. The best part was Michaels version and Janet.

    92. 92

A gangsta rap and a crapping by Kanye West and will i c unt??? what the hell???? HOW VILE.

    93. 93

I wish Monica was featured in the video

Monica New Album "Still Standing" In stores March 23rd 2010

    94. 94

Huey Lewis sang the line better in the old version than Usher did in the new one and I'm not even a Huey Lewis fan. All that auto-tuning sucked (should've just let T-Pain do it since that's more his thing). Miley sucked, Bieber opening sucked. Celine sounded like she's trying once again to prove she's "the greatest singer in de world!" Toni Braxon and Jennifer Hudson sounded best.

    95. 95

Only America could produce such shit! Long live Simon Cowell and his tribute song! Only Pink,Jennifer Hudson, Mary and Josh were of worth. Justin with his voice crack and reading off paper and getting opening line? Kanye even allowed? Miley? Rappers Lil Wayne and T-Pain on auto tune, those that can’t sing or not singers only there for notoriety, Michael with Janet but can’t even hear her, (in the video she is not even synced right, would it have killed her to sing it live?) Rap getting whole horrid section, Fergie saying come on y’all let me hear u? Wyclef acting like he is Christ to Haiti and all over warbling. Celine Dion being directed how to sing by Lionel, like she is idiot WTF? Jamie Foxx singing Ray Charles part and mocking his mannerisms? Nicole Scherzinger from PCD coming across as if she is savior to song like her whole career. What happened to the days when a song was SUNG??? MJ must be rolling in his grave!

    96. 96

And what was that weird sound that Wyclef kept making like he was being strangled?

    97. Pisky says – reply to this

      97

Re: emick – First off most of these artists are not the ones we buy CDS of and are extremely popular, i can name MULTIPLE artists far more talented and popular not included, like how about eminem, Jay z? Chris cornell? Eddie Vedder? i mean come on. To the person who said "Classy" about rapping, can you be more ignorant? Rapping doesn't not automatically mean low class and without honor, you apparently need to stop listening to those pop stations with Lil wayne, T-Pain, or in the worlds of the immortal Jay-Z "Stop T-Paining it" The people in this performance while some were great, the majority were talentless.

Lil wayne and T-pain…just don't get how they have jobs, both have disgusting voices, are the epitome of "low lifes" and "ghetto". Oh and Lil wayne is going to jail in a couple weeks, AWESOME idea and message to send to the younger generation, got geniuses working this performance huh?

    98. 98

I don't like it. The rap sounded terrible and the beginning sounded like the artists tried standing out instead of just singing. They should have written their own song for this.

    99. 99

And why did Jamie Foxx throw in his Ray Charles impersonation?

    100. 100

I think it was AMAZING regardless of justin bieber and miley cyrus.. for me the best part was seeing orianthi playing the guitar
