      1. lionel richie picked justin bieber personally to sing his part hence you get justin opening up the song
      2. for the person that said t-pain and akon cant sing without autotune.. youre dead wrong. they both have pretty good voices!
      3. the rap was added to give it more of a "today" feel
i love the original but i think they did a pretty good job on this one. wyclef's had me like near tears
      just sayin' (kanye shrug)

well…on the good side, atleast they were doing this for a benefiticial reason, which is Haiti, but on the bad side…they completely ruined this amazing song, its a classic and it shouldnt have been tweaked like that. the rapping didnt go good with it neither did the autotune, i love rap and i think autotune is a great device but neither cant be used properly when it comes to this classic…the original will always be the best…i did like barbera streisand, celine dion, and even jennifer hudson..lionel richie did good with the producing…but this version is NEVER going to be considered as good as the original..but it was still good, i give it an A

This is an amazing song……some ppl think its bad nd stupid but i disagree 100%! justin beiber has a passionate voice, so does miley. sure its michael js song but so wat…….this is another generation. the rap is appropriate for it because thats wats popular. i think the auto tone makes it sound very "now". i love every single part of this song and think its brilliant

      Re: Lucas
Seriously you're "sick of all this haiti shit"? What the hell is wrong with you, your're a selfish jerk.

This gave me goosebumps and i got a little teary-eyed. Ha!! but i thought they did an amazing job, it doesn't really matter who sang what, how they sang it or when they sang it. All that matters is these people contributed their time to help out Haiti and make a difference.
And all you people bitchen about Justin Bieber, just shut up, he's friggin 15 and can probably sing ten times better than 'yall.
      **God Bless Michael Jackson!!**

Here we are dissing certain artists to a song that is called, "We are the World". People, this is a mix of numerous genres to show the unity between them dispite differences of interests. Take the song for the significant meaning it displays, not whether or not you liked one of the artists. Everyone is going to dislike one of those artists because there was so much different style. The only disappointment I saw was that I didn't see Jason Mraz at all even though it says he was involved in the song or video in Perez's discription.

actually i liked it… it's loaded with talent, and is a very american approach to a tragic international disaster….
