Dick Cheney Wants 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Repealed!

Former Vice President Dick Cheney, who was also Secretary of Defense, has come forward and shown his support to repeal the STOOPID "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy that bans homosexuals from being out in the military!!
When asked about DADT, Cheney says:
"I think that society has moved on. It's partly a generational question."
Just one of the 64% of the Republican party who want the policy repealed!!

I really don't get why it's taking so long to repeal. It seems like the majority of America recognizes it as being outdated.
You know, repealing don't as, don't tell doesn't mean homosexuals can serve in the military. Its means they can ask, and then kick you out. Whereas now they have to wait for a gay person to "tell" before kicking him out regradless of how obvious it is that he or she is gay. Perhaps this is why Cheney wants to get rid of do't ask, don't tell.

Even though it's an outdated policy, I believe that being 'out' in the military is dangerous for gays, and repealing it will expose them to possible harm from their co-workers.

In Canada no such policy exists in the military. There are gay men (some of my best friends) who are in the Canadian military and in Afghanistan, even here in the reserves!

Don't try and tell others what they should and should not have to accept. The military has been homophobic for centuries, this measure isn't going to change that. And since you have NO intention of ever serving in the military, I think you should keep your fat mouth out of this.
I don't understand what the Republicans have to do with this and why they're made responsible for this policy. The policy was signed and put into action by Bill Clinton… where is that in your post?
