Carrie Fisher And Producer Battle It Out!

Wowsa! We wouldn't want to eff with her!

Her one-woman show Wishful Drinking may have been a huge hit, but that doesn't mean Carrie Fisher has no regrets! And her one just happens to be her producer, Jonathan Reinis!

Carrie claims that her producer has not fulfilled his contractual obligations and because he hasn't relinquished the rights of the show back to the writer/performer and she's forbidden to schedule further performances without his Reinis' involvement.

"As you can imagine, Jonny seems to be a bit cranky, which I figure is why he still hasn't paid me the remaining money he owes me," said Fisher of the $60,000 she believes she is owed for her NYC stint.

The actress only made $2,500 per week in the show, which is far less than many other successful actors are making on the Great White Way. The reason is that she was performing at a nonprofit theater as opposed to a commercial house, yet Reinis promised he would move the production to increase profits.

"For whatever reason, [he] was unable to get it done," Carrie said. "I don't know why, since I was told there was plenty of theater availability. So, his rights reverted back to me under our contract."

Ronald Feiner, Reinis' attorney, responded that, "It is our belief that she owes us a substantial amount in lost profits from what could be a lucrative tour. We have offers from Australia, Canada and theaters around the United States, but we are unable to close the deal because she will not perform the show."

The two of them butted heads several times throughout the run. The producer refused to pay for a car to take her home after the performance and eventually the theater had to cover the standard expense.

"Trust me, there are a lot of things in the contract I wasn't thrilled about," Fisher continued. "But I fulfilled my obligations, didn't miss one show and made a lot of money for my producer — from which I'm assuming he ultimately plans on making a donation to the Roundabout Theater Company."

"This isn't the first time I've had to force Jonny to fulfill his obligations under our deal. I hope he'll comply in this circumstance soon. This whole thing doesn't have to get ugly(er)," she divulged.

We bet it will!

Note to Carrie: STOP WORKING WITH THIS GUY if he has always been unwilling to fulfill his obligations.

      Mystery solved.

She has the entire Rebel Alliance to fight beside her Darth Reinis…

I love her. She just rocks. Princess Leia forever. If she doesn't get along with him, she should work with Gus Van Sant. He sent me a PM invitation at myspace. Too bad the party was 2 months ago. I don't check that account very often. All of Gus' movies are pure gold. He's a wonderful man… and that is all. This totally makes up for all those other directors who treated me like shit. No names used here to protect the guilty… and in case they should become my friends in the future. LOL

I saw the show in Phoenix - it was AWFUL. I asked for my money back. Her "notes" were projected on a screen at the back of the theatre and she made no effort to be "awake" or even amusing during the show. She was wearing SLIPPERS and a "nice" moo moo (to be kind). I paid for a quality show and what I got was a woman who spent the first 15 minutes complaining about the town she was performing in, followed by tired old stories that she was too tired to tell. If anyone should be upset, it should be the poor people buying tickets!!!

First she strangles Jabba the Hutt, and now she is usurping his authority.

Ever since I read her book Wishful Drinking, I've gained a huge amount of respect for the woman. I think she's VERY witty and talented. Her life has been very interesting as well.

Red flags for whom business often means funny business.
Better off to move on to keeps-his-word guy if possible.

Carrie Fisher is an impossible person, anybody who has worked with her will confirm, she is a complete nutcase. Pretty sure the producer will win this case.

Re: moonshain – Really? Maybe it's the producer who needs to move on, lol.
