First it was the Beatles, then Green Day, and now Jimi Hendrix!!!
The guitar legend is the next in line to be digitized in the upcoming artist-based edition of the Rock Band series!!
Although MTV Games has not confirmed the news, Janie Hendrix, the late star's half-sister and controlling force behind his estate, has reportedly signed a deal immortalizing the Purple Haze singer forever in in the video game world!

This is a disgrace; Jimi Hendrix would never agree to this. His delicate and sincere image was not meant to be exploited for corporate profit. His music was more than entertaining, it touched your soul; it was emotional and beautiful. How could that at all parallel with the corrupt intentions of the makers of Rock Band? Since when has it been permissible to transform wonderful, true artists into pixels for the pleasure of Vitamin D deprived, video game-addicted 15 year old boys? This is sick. Shame on Janie Hendrix.

Actually, the fabulous three were Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page and Jimmy Hendrix. Anyone who knows anything about a real authenic guitar knows Jimmy Page played it it absolute best. Jimmy Hendrix and Beck are slow seconds, but they do rate up there. Jimmy Hendrix is good because he was an African-American who really got down to the hard core blues rock. But Jimmy Page did it better.

Totally disgusting. And I'm sure I'll buy it. And I'll turn my fake guitar upside down and play it left handed, bitches. But please people, don't try to speak for Jimi. You have no idea how someone who died in the early 1970's would feel about a whole crop of new kids learning his music. Every kid I know who plays guitar hero or rock band has picked up a real instrument now. I would guess that would make Jimi proud on some level, but how the hell would I know.
Jimi Hendrix was an absolute genius and I cant even imagine where music would be today if he were still alive…Im more excited about a new CD being released March 9th of this year of some of his songs that have never been released before….Hendrix is the Guitar God…!!!
it makes perfect sense, of course as Hendrix is the king of all guitar gods. but why will he be in "Rock Band" - "Guitar Hero" would be more appropriate. whatever, he RULED and anyone that knows rock will agree.
People, calm down. The rumor was already debunked by Harmonix, the developer who makes the "Rock Band" games. They said that they weren't interested in making a single game based off him, but they were currently looking into getting some songs by Jimi for the next (full) Rock Band game.
rockband is taking it to a level of overkill. so money hungry.. i thought it was funny how the rock band beatles series came out almost immediately after MJ's death (he bought the rights to their music from paul mccartney years ago). they didn't waste any time..
I don't like that Hendrix's music is being reduced to 5 buttons.. but I'll still buy this and play the f out of it.
… which songs will be on this, though? Hendrix has a few hits, but most of his songs aren't well-known to most people.
