Vote John Mellencamp for Senate!

That is what nearly 1,700 of you are after! A Facebook group has developed in support of rocker John Mellencamp's consideration of taking on a political career.

Word is that John is a viable candidate to replace Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh, who recently announced he won't be seeking reelection and the group, "Draft John Mellencamp for Senate," is hoping that John will do it!

Hey, why not John? Do it for all the Jack and Diane's in the world!

Re: Harliqueen – John Mellencamp is a lifelong hoosier and has spent his career promoting the interests of working Americans and small town America too, look up his record and I think you'll see that he's got substance- if he's into it, I'd drive to Indiana and go door to door for him!

What's wrong with that? Hmmm, let's see … maybe because he woefully unqualified! But hey, he's a Democrat, so I guess that's OK. After all, you guys have a thing for putting unqualified people in office … Obama anyone?

I don't want to be a politician. I don't like politics. It's petty; it fights dirty.
      John Mellencamp

I'm your average Joe guy. I don't really care for politicians.
      John Mellencamp

Unless he changes his "tune", doesn't look like he wants to be a Senator.

      LiB DOUCHE

    12. 12

Sorry - but I listened to a lengthy interview podcast with John and he's just not very bright.

    13. 13

I live in Indiana…please God, no.

john's more in touch with blue collar america than any politician. the work he's done for farm aid over the years has been great. he'd be a real representative of the people. he wouldn't be bought by corporations. run, john, run. senate needs a shake up

    15. 15

John Mellencamp supported John Edwards in his presidential campaign, and Edwards wound up being a douche. So, Mellencamp probably is fairly naive with the inner workings of politics. He would need a lot of helpers.
But his average-man values expressed in his music would be the good part of him doing it.
      Nah, ain't gonna happen.

Please, we don't need another celebrity in government! What ever happened to the Average American representing the people?

Oh please let him run. He'll surely lose.
