GROAN! Is this really necessary?
Universal is developing a new theatrical version of American Pie bringing on scriptwriters Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg who penned Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle.
The original American Pie was released in 1999 followed by two successful sequels. Since then a bunch of straight-to-DVD titles under American Pie Presents have been released and now the studio feels the franchise is ready to head back to the cinemas.
Supposedly some of the original cast is interested in returning for American Pie 4. Oh, we bet!
Shannon Elizabeth needs a job like yesterday!

I like American Pie, but honestly what's the point? they'd be in like their 30's by now.
Name it, Amerian Pie Presents "LOSERS!" What a shame….Shannon Elizabeth is hot but the franchise is history. Move on.
And after that what remake Porkys? OH YEAH THEY DID THAT ALREADY LOOK HOW WELL IT DID…

If they continue with the original story, then I would consider renting it sometime. But if it's something stupid like the Naked Mile or some frat movie then NO. I'm tired of seeing American Pie Presents: [Stupid Movie Title].

YES! But let them flaunt the trainwreck status of some of them. In part two Tara Reid was the hot chick being snobby to her ex. Let her ex now be sucessful and have her partied out ass trying to get him back to help her pay for her rehab that she can't afford on a truck-stop waitresses salary. LOL!!!
i think if it went along the lines of american wedding and followed the couples having a family and all the things that could be funny and wrong there. im from the generation when american pie first started and am in that stage of my life. i think it could have the potential for "funniness." but everyone has to be there, stiffler, stifflers mom Jim, Jim's dad everyone.

However, they'd all be way older and probably in their 30s, the thing with American Pie 4 is it could either be the greatest thing ever, or the biggest disaster ever and the thing to completely ruin the rest of the American Pies (1-3). Sadly… I think it could be the movie to ruin the American Pie series and I think it will be a disaster… I don't want it to be though, American Pie is my favorite movie ever, but putting a fourth one seems TOO risky.. They shouldn't do it unless all of the original people come back for it, because trust me, thats what would ruin it.
Haha, Shannon Elizabeth does need a job! I was in Nice, France about 2 yrs ago and she was running around town and hooked up with one of the guys in my hostel. He said she was working on a cruise ship!

i dont know if i would see this. i have all the others on dvd and they get worse as they progress, but maybe if all the original cast were in it (in particular jason biggs - love him as jim!) then i might go see it
