Back to jail the former child star goes!
Family Ties star Brian Bonsall was arrested in Colorado on Friday for smoking pot - a direct violation of the terms of his release!
Bonsall was arrested last December for assaulting his friend with a broken wooden stool, to which the former Andrew Keaton pleaded not guilty to.
Brian's attorney is arguing the fact that his client "needs marijuana for headaches" and has reportedly applied for his very own pot card.
The stoner is currently stewing in a Boulder, Colorado jail cell, where his bail has been set at $10,000.

The MMJ excuse won't work. If it is part of your probation that you can't smoke then having a MMJ card, at least in Colorado, is still a violation of probation.
Yes, those eyes say it all. It is way more than pot he is doing. The very sad thing is that if this kid continues down this path, the outcome will be fatal. Would not be surprised in the least if the next story in a couple of months on him is that they either found him OD'ed, killed himself or someone killed him.. So very sad. He had such promise.. I wish people, the government would realize that this is a major illness and should be treated as such..
The guy is notorious in Boulder for being violent - even towards women he's dated. He's just scum that still uses his "fame". Everyone I've known that knows him has nothing but bad things to say about him.

umm 10,000 just for pot? thats stupid. pot shouldnt even be illegal. he must have done something else. that seems insane to me. i think there are other drugs involved. there is not way something as small as JUST smoking pot should be that big of a fine. maybe selling it… in really large quantities. but just smoking it? i dont buy that excuse at all? i agree with the previous post. he prolly was doing something with meth and his publicist doesnt want him to look bad

When he was on "Family Ties" I remember reading an article on him where he was having a bunch of trouble with his homework. To this day I remember reading that and thinking that I would never have kids because the thought of putting my kids through the tortures of homework just sounded so depressing. A few decades later I have two kids and I'm right there with them with their homework! I found Brian sad as a child and even sadder now. He needs MUCH help and spirituality. I bet he and Gary Coleman have very similar personalities.

It seems really harsh to jail a young guy for a) smoking pot, to b) maybe help his headaches. Seriously. Don't they need that cell for a hardened criminal floating out there somewhere? Wouldn't it be more humane to aid him in getting some real help for the headaches, for a start?
