Clifford has got some serious competition!

Meet Giant George, a 250-pound Great Dane that stands 3 feet, 7 inches tall from paw to shoulder.

The 4-year-old pup is owned by Arizona native David Nasser and today was just crowned by the Guinness folks the tallest dog ever on record!

Woof!

      Thats is one big doggie! Ha, love great danes…such cool dogs. They're great with people tho also despite their gigantic size- much less this one.

      All this means is that this dog will have terrible skeletal and bone problems every second it ages

      Great Danes are already a sick mess with all the bad breeding

      AKC breeds for looks not health, and these breeds are seriously effed up at a young age

      I was just at the taping of Oprah where she had this dog on with his owner. He was sooo sweet!

      Thanks for posting that - I was going to say essentially the same thing, adding that in addition to bone problems, giant breed dogs like Danes and Irish Wolfhounds often have heart problems, and they are among the shortest lived of all breeds…. considered geriatric at 7- or 8 years old.

      That is a beautiful dog, and I have no doubt that he is as sweet as he is beautiful, but it is bloody irresponsible to be breeding ANY dogs while so many healthy, gorgeous dogs are killed in our shelters every year.

      Adopt a mutt from a shelter.
      They are every bit as sweet and beautiful, and a whole lot healthier… and you'll be saving a life rather than contributing to the death of a dog, which is what you are doing if you are breeding or buying while homeless dogs die.

      I just watched this on Oprah, and the dog is 7'3" from nose to tail. Not 3'7"! He is HUGE tho!

      I saw him on Oprah. He is such a beautiful, sweet dog. This picture doesn't do him any justice at all.

      My golden retriever is 3 feet paw to shoulder, I think something is wrong with those numbers!
