At least they're trying to!

Natalie Portman and her former flame Jake Gyllenhaal can come together for one cause - the Hungry In America Project, a multimedia awareness campaign aiming to end hunger in the States.

The two hosted the event by The Feed Foundation at Colicchio & Sons Restaurant in NYC on Sunday, which will also debut a documentary of the same name.

Always looking to lend a helping hand! Loves it!

awe how sweet…now if we can just send someone of celebrity status out here to Ohio, we have people in warren getting rid of thier kids and doing themselves in cause they cant feed em. And before anyone clenches there mouths and gasps in sorrow yes it is true. The Hungry In America project isn't quite reaching out to "everyone" in America…

At least someone is doing something right…. Feed the hunger stateside, I like that.

Sick of people always sending checks to other countries and feeling better about it then helping people on the home front.

Hopefully some Vets (Vietnam, Iraq, OIF, Afghan) will get a meal from time to time. You know the ones who were willing to ship out overseas at the age of 18 in order for you to keep your freedom, smoke pot, get fucked in a dorm room.

Since when is he her "former flame?" They must have been twelve! LOL! I think they are pals. I don't pick up a "sex" vibe from either one. I saw her interviewed for the movie they did together with Tobey Maguire, and they said they are friends, long time. They were very jokey. Brother/Sister-ish.

Exactly what is the aim of this campaign? I don't mean what it's doing, I mean how is it doing it? Since Natalie is such a hater of meat eaters, what is this campaign planning to feed people? Is this some vegan charity? Not going to feed to many people that way I doubt. The hungry need protein more than anything to keep their strength up, and nothing does that better than meat!

So glad to finally see someone bringing attention to the hungry in America!!!!! Yes!!! We have many people going to bed hungry every night, while so many others are busy feeding the hungry in other countries. Jake & Nat. would make an awful cute couple. Too bad they can't get it together.
