      I SOOOO have to agree with that statement. I don't even know who 'Timlaland' is, but truer words were never spoken. Just because a performer has a No.1 hit doesn't mean they should deserve a Grammy. I think longevity & how well that longevity is sustained constitutes whether or not you deserve a grammy. Like Taylor Swift - okay she was cute for about 2 minutes. Now it's just completely annoying. People need to have better taste.

      I completely agree with him, although in all honesty no real talent or legends has been born in the last two decades. We are left with the likes of Taylor Swift WTF? And have to hand out awards to her. That is the unfortunate circumstance that earth has now found itself in.

      Madonna has always categorically been "what's hot" to most people. Just because you sell a lot it doesn't make you good, just relatable enough for people who don't even really care about you to still want some of your music. Is American Idol an impassioned, genius, deep show? No. But any idiot can switch the station and know what to expect.

      That being said, "Ray of Light", "Beautiful Stranger", "Die Another Day", and "Like A Virgin" were brilliant because in those eras Madonna wasn't a desperate, cold fuck like she's been acting lately clinging to Baby Jesus and Lady Gaga after her trainwreck divorce.

      Wrong! Why don't you Wiki Kate Bush. She not only writes and produces her albums (as opposed to co-writing and co-producing like Madonna does), but she directs her own videos. She also incorporated performance and dancing during her live shows long before Janet, Britney and Madonna (and she didn't lip-synch, either). She may not be as well known (here in the US) as Madonna, but she came out long before her. Teena Marie also wrote & produced her own stuff long before Madonna came out (people were calling Madonna the next Teena Marie back in 84). There's not that many "firsts" of Madonna that are actually real firsts.

      Plain and simple Madonna like Michael Jackson has made some of the greatest songs and certainly some of the greatest pop songs of all time. Her catalog is ridiculously good and she’s still played in all radio formats today. I can’t think of another artist that still gets played on pop, urban, lite, dance, easy-listening, adult contemporary etc. Just turn on your radio people, you still hear songs like Into the Groove, Express Yourself, Ray of Light, Hung Up, Take a Bow, Holiday, Like A Prayer and Open Your Heart everyday. If it wasn’t for Madonna GaGa, Britney, Rihanna and countless other female artists wouldn’t exist. Madonna and Michael Jackson are the pop soundtrack to people born after 1975 for sure.
