Whitney Houston Horrifies In Concert Down Under!
Crack is whack and now we know exactly why!
After her a concert in Australia on Monday, fans walked out of Whitney Houston's concert early declaring it a disappointment.
It's been rumored that she is in fragile health and although Whitney's reps deny the claims, there's no arguing that she's isn't what she used to be.
The former diva only sang two songs before she exited the stage to take a break. She appeared out of breath, coughed through songs and when she returned to sing through six more numbers, she handed the microphone over to her brother Gary to sing.
"She was not fit to perform. She seemed to be on another planet, and the concert was laughable. When the back up singer's performance is the stand out for the night you know something is wrong," said a concert goer.

Hm…I don't see what you guys see. I thought it was a totally original rendition of a song she has had to sing about ten gazillion times. In fact, given the undoubtedly devastating (alleged) drug addiction that has ruined her career, she sounds phenomenal. Don't forget, we're hearing this through a camcorder, live. Take a listen to other artists captured live on a camcorder and see how they sound. Much worse I assure you. The lack of audio tonal range usually makes singers sound like they have a tin voice and accentuates every bad key. She was on key throughout. Her trademark voice is still there. If she is on her last legs, it's a real shame, because she really COULD make a comeback if she can kick the other stuff. That's what is sad actually.

1st of all, the enquirer has declared alot of people on the brink of death. yes, they get some right, but based on odds, they have too…. and if she is drinking water and coughing, maybe she was sick… but it could have been something as simple as a cold, bronchitis, etc. you can not expect her voice to be that as it was 20 years ago. same as mariah, celine, etc. look as males too, voices lower as you age. it is natural, especially if you are using your voice as a tool daily.

Poor her?! She continues to disappoint her fans, friends, and family over and over by throwing away the gift she has. If she had an honest bone in her body, she'd refund every cent to those people who had to listen to that unfortunate performance.

What happened to her for real? One kind of good performance, one horrific one, one decent, one horrible….she can't do 2 good ones in a row? I used to be one of her biggest defenders but this is a joke. And for those people that say that "voices change"…well Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, etc etc still sound great.
When the Backup Singers performance is the stand out. That's every Beyonce Show.

After reading the post, I was totally expecting her to really screw up that legendary note…but she hit it! And if you notice, the audience, who was supposedly "walking out," stood up and gave her a standing ovation at that point. Don't get me wrong, I think crack is as wack as the next person, lol! But isn't it normal for singers' voices to change slightly as they age? I don't know…I still think it was pretty good!
I would pay the $ just to see her up on stage smoking crack and they could just play tracks from her new cd. That shit would be a trip
This is how she has sounded during her entire comeback but nobody is honest enough to say it…the critics bullshit by saying that her voice sounds more "Seasoned" or more "Mature" when what they really mean is that she basically wrecked her voice, her range, and her ability to sing because she was a drug addict. I can't believe that people honestly thought she could do a tour. Her televised promo appearances for her CD (Dancing with the stars, etc.), were not good. Her voice was not good. Anyone buying tickets to her shows based on those performances are getting just what they paid for. My god I saw the footage of this performance on tv and she looks pregnant, among other things.

IDK…I'm on the fence. The leading verses were, for her, mediocre at best. BUT, she does that thing at the end, the pause, and steps away from the mic on purpose. It is nothing new for her and her shows and performances. She has been doing that since she was a flawless singer. It is her DIVA moment, building suspense for the finale of the song, she makes people want it. Again, she has been doing that since the 80's when her finale was 'Greatest Love'. Go look at Arista 15 on Youtube and you'll see what I mean. She seems to have nailed the 'money' moment of the song…You can see the crowd clearly goes nuts and I have been reading that MANY of the fans loved the show and tweeted and posted about how much they liked it. I agree the opening was less than steller and the outift she wore was boring.

this is similar to her performance in HI years ago. She wasn't this bad, but she was struggling with her notes, getting out of breath. Bobby Brown came on stage and performed. My mom (who had no idea who he was!) said he was the best part of the show.
WTF…..I used to adore her…..this is just sad cause she used to be the best….now she's at the bottom of the totem pole!! This was NOT a "clever way to interprete the song"……that was just her TRYING to get through the song….if she could have talked the lyrics instead of sing them….i think she would have done that!….FUCK….you HEAR PEOPLE LAUGHING…..If i was her….i would have quit while i was ahead of the game….now all we'll remember is that she USED to be a great singer before crack destroyed her vocal cords……too bad.

I think from where she was to who she is now is amazing. She's on the road tyring to get back in to the game. At least she isn't lip syncing like most of the singers. I wish her the best.

She was not really all that bad, considering… but that schlocky synth arrangement is straight out of 1985.
I couldn't watch more than a minute of that. I want to cry. God I hate crack. It destroys so many people and it took away a supremely beautiful, talented woman. I hope to hell she didn't turn to crack because she couldn't come out of the closet. Then we could thank all the despicable homophobes - they're worse then crack.

I see two different sides.. one one hand, it's very sad when you compare THIS Whitney with the OLD Whitney.. she used to have such breath control, ability to hold notes, her high notes were so sweet. (Also, who stops in the middle of a song?? Bruce Springsteen would never do that..)
However, on the other hand, she is STILL better than 90% of the women singers we have out there right now.

I just watched the video twice and I honestly don't see what everyone else is seeing…..sure she did a different version of the classic song, and yes, she took a long towel break….but vocally, I thought she hit some amazing notes……she may not be 100% the Whitney she used to be BUT, she is close to 50 now and she can still really hit it when she wants too……I get the feeling she won't hit the notes unless SHE really wants too….but overall, I didn't think it was bad at all.
