      Well Done J!

      He's beyond manly…he's humanly…just really a beautiful and talented person….

    3. 3

fuck you take the fucking fur off

    4. 4

Good for Johnny, keeping it classy! You should really take a page from this guy's book Perez.

    5. 5

I thought Clay Aiken is now a figure skater!

    6. 6

      Yawn….

Man, what a beautiful, beautiful statement and testament to who this person is. All of the ugly, nasty things said to him, about him and he still found it in his heart to say, I cannot judge or condem someone for having an opinion of me, but remember what you say may hurt some young kid who wants to be free to express themselves. say what you want about his flamboyance, he is not hurting anyone. He is not killing anyone, he is just being him. For himbeing him, he is getting called these horrible things, but he continues on. That makes him more of a man than any "macho" man who slams him.

    8. 8

Aww..I like him. So genuine, sincere, and well spoken. And easy there jjames33…I don't wear fur, but we all know it will never be abolished!

    9. 9

      yes yes yes

    10. 10

He's amazing. Just one of the nicest, sweetest and funniest guys you will ever meet!
And now he proves once again that, contrary to some people's opinions, he is ane excellent role model regardless of your sexual orientation.

"I grew my beard out to prove that I am a man, at the end of the day" LMFAO!

    11. 11

      poutine. LMFAOOO.
the non-quebec pronunciation of poutine makes me laugh.

oh, and take the fur off, k?
people are going to not really care what you have to say if you have a dead animal draped around yourself.

besides the dead animal, nice speech, though. really. no sarcasm.

    12. 12

As much as I dislike him (as a figure skater, not person) very well spoken.

Guess what Johnny Weir You are still a Bitchy Queen!

    14. 14

For as long as Johnny Weir thinks it's ok to wear fur that comes from tortured animals, he is telling me he has no empathy.

Why should I have empathy for him if he has no heart?

Weir makes gay men look bad, and none of my gay frinds can stand him!

    15. 15

Wow I really love this kid.. I just started watching he reality show and I am now obsessed with it. He is funny, sweet, honest, real…that is more than I can say about ALOT of straight people i know and I think he is simply amazing and together for someone his age.

    16. 16

i agree with him. but i hate the fur.

    17. 17

      Go chug a cock Johnny

    18. 18

Right on! Wish him luck with the Olympics! We need more public figures like him who are not afraid to stand up against homophobic/racist insinuations.

    19. 19

WOW! Very well said! We should be proud as Americans to have this awesome huMAN and skater representing us! BRAVO, Johnny Weir! You ROCK! Sending lots of XOXO's out to him. Don't let the ignorant get you down, Johnny!

    20. 20

mmmm… poutine. I could have one right now.

    21. 21

I respect that he is facing this with such maturity and grace. The fact that his masculinity was questioned in a figure skating competition is a little strange to me. I'm not saying that figure skating is for gays, not at all, but what I am saying is that there is a feminine aspect of figure skating in a sense of grace and style of the performance. I think that Johnny Weir has the most graceful routines out of any figure skater that I have seen.

This type of degradation isn't new to the figure skating world either. My uncle was a partners figure skater and was going to the olympics, but when he came out to his couples partner she backed down from everything and they lost their chance at gold because he is gay.

It's terribly unfortunate when someone's athletic performance is judged on the basis of their orientation. Athleticism has absolutely nothing to do with orientation, it's all about how dedicated you are to the sport. Johnny Weir is dedicated to his sport and for that we should give him the utmost respect as an athlete.

    22. 22

      She's kinda hot.

    23. 23

Somehow, the public came to the misconception that Johnny is a sparkly, flamboyant character wearing a crown of roses?

Yes, I can see I was way off on that call.

    24. 24

You know, he is showy, and I admire him for being in-your-face with who he is. He's not afraid to be himself and he takes flak for it, and in doing so he makes it a little easier for all gay kids. Man he is beautiful and talented. (Wish he'd ditch the fur tho.) Macho guys are so scared of him - kind of comical when you think about it. Who's the real man, the brave man? Johnny is.

    25. 25

      FUR!!!! FUR!!!! FUR!!!!

wow, thats quite the statement HE is making after being slammed by PETA for wearing REAL FUR during a performance… I guess THIS is how he shows off his "masculenity"…. what a man!

    26. 26

they are soo stooopid for saying that…. johnny weir is the best

    27. 27

    32. 32

      herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre's Johnny
      you tell em :)

    33. 33

      Love Johnny!

    34. 34

I like him. Well said. Maybe you should take notes Mario and stop being such a mean ugly bitch.

    35. 35

Why aren't you harrassing him for being closeted?

    36. 36

-I love Johnny and his "in your face gayness" skating style.
-"Flawless" and "perfection" are adjectives that come to mind, for Johnny's skating.
-In the end, EVERY competitor, still has to please the judges and give them what they want to be successful.
-The right music, choreography and costume choices are completely different for competition versus a showcase.
-It's life in the big city…always will be.

    37. 37

amazingly eloquent statement. great for him for not becoming angry and lashing out. I think it's great that he shed light on the fact that this day and age we're (hopefully) moving beyond the old deffinitions of masculinity and femininity. bravo. fyi if that's real fur he should be bitch slapped.

    38. 38

Rosa Parks ,move one seat back please.

    39. 39

      BRAVO!

    40. 40

GREAT STATEMENT!!! I used to think of him as a silly person but now have a new respect for his humanity and intellect.

    41. 41

He is AMAZING! Well said. Bravo!

But did he really have to wear the fur???

    48. 48

      i love johnny weir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    49. 49

That's cute - "If I had a chance to sit down with them over a poutine, I think we'd all be lovely people together…"

      I hope apologies arrive!

    50. 50

I dont understand why some people are being homophobic?..Gay people are not monster or came from outer space..there are good human being!..Johnny Weir is cute..He is so adorable!..whats not to like?..his cute!

    51. 51

This guy is one class act. I know I wouldn't have been half as charitable about those ass-holes as he was…that's why I'm not a class act. He did the best thing he could do to bigots, he let them know they don't even register on his radar screen…that always pisses off jerks.

    52. 52

Re: cvting – Hey idiot, that was fak fur. Was not real..

    53. 53

Folks, all fake fur.. He did not take any real fur to the Olympics because of the uproar and threats. It is fake fur..

    54. 54

      i love him!!!!!!!!

    55. 55

When I first heard about the comments made against this beautiful human being, I was in tears. It saddens me so much that we live in a world where hate is so rampant.

That being said I am so proud of Johnny for handling this with grace! I think we should all follow his lead, and love one another instead of ripping our fellow humans to shreds.

    56. 56

You GO,Dude! I love his way of telling people to fuck off!
It's great when we can have a LGBT person speak the way he did to let others know that no matter what anyone feels about gay people,we're still going to be here and people need to learn to LIVE & LET LIVE!

    57. 57

Re: PinHk – And,you're still an asshole!

    58. 58

Right on, Johnny! Great job of holding yourself above and keeping your head held high. I have a 4 month old son and whatever he chooses to do or be in life I will always be behind him %110 and will be so proud if he turns out half the man you are!

    59. 59

What a class act. He handled this situation with such grace. Perez, you should follow his example instead of being a little whiny bitch.

    60. 60

That was so cool! We have come a long way from when i grew up 30 years ago and even in SF you had to watch what you did. Thanks Johnny. Cheers
