Wanda And Rosie Gab About Being Gay

rows.jpg

Wanda Sykes called in to Rosie O'Donnell's SiriusXM radio show to talk about her decision to come out and how difficult it's been with her family.

Wanda came out publicly during the Prop 8 rally, making a snap decision to do so. She said she didn't feel any pressure from the gay community in particular, but Rosie felt the opposite saying she felt "stalked" by former Advocate Editor-in-Chief, Judy Wieder:

“She’d be at every event I was at and she’d say 'I really want to talk to you about coming out. When are you going to come out?' It felt like pressure from the gay community, not really anyone else."

Wanda had the most trouble coming out to her family saying that it was "not cool. We're still working on it. They're getting better with it. I know they love me…"

Wanda's family seem the most concerned about the "double stigma" she'd face being gay in the black community. Her mother even told her, "if it ever gets out, I hope I'm dead."

How awful!

Well we think both ladies are amazing and they're both doing VERY well for themselves both personally and professionally!

Please start a new site called 'GayPerezHilton.com' where you can post all the gay bullshit you want and leave this one for celebrity gossip

    3. 3

maybe you should have made it easier for her and outed her on your site.

    4. 4

I LOVE Wanda! Rosie? Meh! But I'm happy that they're speaking out for our rights.

Caught Wanda Sykes standup a while ago and she SLAYED the audience. Really hilarious stuff…

(Her mother even told her, "if it ever gets out, I hope I'm dead."

      How awful!)

No, it's not AWFUL of her, it is HOW the mom feels. That response grows out of the "General Publics'" response to "gay" and Mom is "aware" of what position her daughter is in. She is concerned for what her daughter now "faces". It is a response of fear. When we choose, as a society, to accept ALL, that response will no longer be necessary.

Re: buck – This not a post about random gay people.
Rosie and Wanda are bonafide celebrities who happen to be gay. This is a celebrity website. What's the problem?

Re: buck – Hey Buck;) I see your still the loving guy you always were. You just keep giving conservatives a good name, don't ya? You're so tolerant and forgiving. Just like Jesus ;)

I love Wanda!!!! FCK wat these people got to say about posting GAY stuff. This is a GAY world and for those who cant admit that into your heads then move out of AMERICA!!!! LOL

    13. 13

Wanda is as gay as Anne Heche. (and Meredith Baxter). Once it no longer helps her career, she will marry a man.

    14. 14

Rosie was a liar and a coward. She pretended to be this superwoman raising all her kids by hersels when she really had a girlfriend at home taking care of all of them, she pretended to be in love with Tom Cruise…then when she finally comes out, she comes out all angry…like SHE was oppressed. Hey Rosie, the ONLY person keeping you in the closet was YOU.

I LOVE WANDA!!! I saw her show in person twice and both times peed my pants! very embarassing!!! I do miss "girly" Wanda! I thought she was sooooooo savvy with her longer hair, and style! I'm not talking about her sexuality, but her looks! she was CHIC!

Re: Karinamatos77 – I have a question for you - if it's a gay WORLD, what would be the point of moving out of AMERICA?

Perez don't you recognize yourself in the "gay community" here?
Since you've basically forced a bunch of celebs out of the closet. Remember Clay Aiken?

    18. 18

wow, her family sucks. You should never judge someone because of their sexuality. Ya'll that do are dumb as fuck.

    19. 19

yes, but it was wrong for Judy Wiener to pressure Rosie. Personal decision. No one's business.

    20. 20

      LOVE Rosie!!!!!!

Re: buck – Buck, 1 + 1 equals 2 not 4.. LOL.. You are a friggin idiot. gay and celebs pretty much go hand in hand. Hollywood, entertainment has been and will always be where gays own it or are a big presence in. If this were a sports site, political site, I can see your argument. But its a celeb site owned and run by a gay blogger.. So why dont you go and create a site to your liking you big dork.

    22. 22

Blah Blah Blah I'm gay and so special because of that - lets talk about it at very opportunity we can. If gay people want to be treated as equals then maybe they should stop jamming it down our throats. Frankly I have no idea who Wanda Sykes is but I know from this site that she's gay - its been mentioned more than a few times. Wouldn't gay people rather be known for whatever it is they do (acting?) and on their merits rather than being for their 'gayness'?

    23. 23

Re: buck – I've never appreciated any one's self-hate as much as I appreciate yours, Buck. Compassion kills.

    24. 24

You know what I get from you Perez? To you people are GAY first, performers second, and anything else human last. No wonder the gay community hates you. These women, like them or not, are accomplished hard working comedians, mothers, and many other things. They happen to be gay, but for you it's GAY, GAY, GAY, like that's the only good attribute to them. You suck like a Hoover.

If you like Sirius XM then see their “rags to riches” story on DVD. The movie is called “Stock Shock” and it goes over the history, development, and near-death experience of the stock. I did not know the inventor of sirius xm was a woman!–well she is now, at least. DVD is cheaper at www.stockshockmovie.com, but the DVD is pretty much everywhere for sale.
