Paris Hilton recently shot this commercial for Devassa's Bem Loura Beer, which translates to "naughty" and "very blonde."
Apparently, however, the clip is way too sexy and after many complaints, the Women's Secretariat is trying to get Paris BANNED.
Says a spokeswoman:
"It's an ad that devalues women — in particular, blonde women."
Uh. We're pretty sure we've seen FAR worse - including in BRAZIL, the land of the string bikini.
Private regulation agency Conar has reportedly launched three investigations into the ad, and spokesman Eduardo Correia tells a source:
"The problem with the ad isn't a lack of clothing, but its sensual nature. A woman in a bikini on a beach isn't necessarily sensual; it depends on the context."
It's sensual if you're trying to SELL a product!!
We feel like someone has a vendetta against Paris and is trying to make it look like an issue that CLEARLY is not there!!

Paris Hilton is SO 2003, no one even talks about her anymore. The girl (woman) is a handful of months away from her 30th birthday and is still attempting to do shows called "My BFF" and talk like a baby. Most woman her age are married with one or more young children. Not saying youve to follow this strict model of living but you also shouldn't be acting like you're still 17 when you're damn near 30.

I think the ad is pretty tame, and kinda cute. I like it. I don't think it devalues women at all, it just plays on the image Paris has created for herself.

I don't find the ad that sexual or I don't know, inapropriate for tv… it's true, there's a lot worse here in Brazil as in everywhere in the world. That's probabl some pr stunt to get paris and the beer (it's a new brand and needs the fuzz to get atention from the people) some buzz and get media atention.
The thing with beer ads in Brazil is that for many years all the country has been trying to separate the alchoholic beverage from sensual women. It's a way to try to make it less apealing to teens and because it's for some, offensive to women. Over the last 10 years all the big beer companies have started to take other direction when it comes to advertising beer. Devassa, on the other hand, went back in time with this ad and kind of blew the efforts made in the past years.

Hey, I´m Brazilian and I will tell you what really happened.
Its not about the women image. In Brazil the alcoholic marketing follow some rules. One of them is that they can not too much sensualize the commercial. It rules for both women and men. There is this rule to avoid people buying the beer to be more sensual. You know, there is always a short brained one that indeed thinks this way. And the Government must fiscalize this thing. The Conar ( the Government Secretary that take care of marketing and commercials) is analising the commercial so they will know if its too much sensualized os if this is just an overreact.
So you can know, last year the Conar put down an Havaianas Commercial where an old granny was talking with her grandaughter. They were talking about a celebrity that was using the sandals. And the Granny said the grandaughter should date him. She said it should be harsh to marry a celebrity and the Granny answered: Marriage? I wasn´t talking about marriage. I was talking about sex.
The ppl started to call the Conar and complained about the granny saying that grannies dont act like that (hello, short minded ppl) and the Conar pulled out one of the most hilarious commercials I´ve ever seen.
Devassa means to us something like: Naughty, Slutty, Whore…. It depends on the phrase youre using it into. So Paris just acted herself Lol. But to some ppl its just too much.

Don't doubt that this is a marketing strategy. This Ad has absolutely nothing obscene about it. It only plays with the name of a very traditional Bar in Rio. Devassa is not only the name of a beer, but a bar, that has great meals and the beers have nicknames depending on theis colours…Blond, redhead…brunet. True that the meaning of the word in portuguese can be very demeaningfull. But I think it's funny that Paris was up to the task to represent a Devassa. I am not a Paris fan, but I think it's a great thing when you can play and laugh of a label that someone put on you. In Paris's case she was the one that put the label and makes money from it. Some call her a dumb blond, I call her SMART. There is no need to be a celebrity to be jugdet , so if we all already go through this judgemental bullshit in our families, offices, etc, why not use it as a celebrity and make money from it?
I must advice not to mix a cultural thing such as a string bikibi with an alcohol publicity. In Brazil they show butts, in Europe they show boobs. Now what? We shoudn' define cultures, but respect them.

Recently during Carnival, Paris was making a fool of herself and getting drunk during their biggest celebration of the year. Carnival is a big competition, it is like their version of the Rose Parade and Marti Gras combine. What Paris did was embarrassing and shamed Brazilians. I watched on the Brazilian news.
