Quote Of The Day

gaggggggaaaaa.jpg

"The last thing a young woman needs is another picture of a sexy pop star writhing in sand, covered in grease, touching herself. My image was an issue at my record label. I fought for months and cried at meetings. I got criticized for being arrogant because if you're sure of yourself as a woman they say you're a bitch whereas if you're a man and you're strong-willed it's normal."

I tad confused….the way that Lady Gaga dress, act and carry herself is not really that much different that pop divas that she claim to be so different from.

    2. 102

what is she talking about? she has had so many nipple shots and instead of covered in grease, she was covered in blood…oh yeah the blood was symbolic…of her sacrifice for fame

    3. 103

yeah she was covered in some sort of grease at the music awards….remember?

    4. 104

      1. She's wrong. A male pop star would be viewed as arrogant too. 2. She needs to stop regurgitating tired cliches. Though, I suppose she wouldn't have a career if she did that.

    5. 105

WHAT is she talking about? Being audaciously sexy is what she's all about!!! I hope that when my daughter grows up, there are some female musicians out there who aren't baring all, all of the time. I really like the way Gwen Stefani is sexy without looking like a prostitute. I mean, do your thing Lady Gaga, but don't claim to be any different than the other pop stars in baring nearly all, likely in sand and grease.

    6. 106

I'm totally with GaGa in this one. It's a man's world. They call us bitches, hystericals, bad tempered… when we are so sure of what we want to do and they don't agree.

      Re: giorgio85
Yeah, and 20 years ago, Lady Gaga was 3 years old, so she probably wasn't caring what Madonna said in her EROTICA phase. But instead of looking at it as "copying," how about looking at it as what Madonna was saying 20 years ago (and feminists and scholars were saying before Madonna) hasn't changed since then.

    8. 108

wow, this from the woman who is never fully clothed and constantly flaunts her tiny little body. Ya, that's supposed to make me feel so much more secure and stronger. It is all a gimmick and I don't think she know's what point she is supposed to be making.

    9. 109

She is an artist for 14 year olds, cuz honestly, everyone above that age understands how incoherent and manipulated the whole thing is.

I prefer Britney, who is honest, and accepts how sexy and basic "pop" she is, and isn't pretentious or hypocritical, plus has 10 times better stage presence.

    10. 110

I heart Gaga but that quote is just hypocritical.

    11. 111

Ay lub Gaga, pero I thought this was Courtney Lub when I first saw the foto. Madonna said a similar quote in the 80s.

    12. 112

Doesn't Gaga take plenty of sexy pics herself? Hypocrite….

    13. 113

Re: LosTAngeles – i will let me barrow urs!~

    14. 114

i really like gaga & enjoy her music but this is really total hypocrisy
shes done the writing on stage and in photo shoots
and even in a photoshoot in the sand
and shes is always ALWAYS grabbing her junk and im sure there are pics before she was famous writhing in grease
      so i dont get it

do as i say not as i do? or self loathing cause she cant ever stop being what she despises so much?

    15. 115

im not really sure what she said. was she saying the picture was good or bad? she didnt make any sense. anyway, the difference between a man and a woman in a business meeting is that women cry and men dont. i mean, come on, breaking down in tears in a business meeting is so pathetic. any woman who does that sets the womans movement back 40 years.

    16. 116

Re: upoutmyfaceboi – sorry, but britney doesnt even come close to many of the ARTISTS that u mentioned. britney is not an artist, just an entertainer (a lazy one at that) where the others u mentioned are artists. there is a big difference.

    17. 117

Too bad that she's a complete hypocrite. And she should start wearing bras - saggy titted bitch

    18. 118

Everyday shes complaining about a ridiculous double standard so she can appeal to the feminists of the world.

this is a horrible pose-she looks sort of mentally challenged and her hair looks terrible-why did she need wind for this shoot??

    20. 120

      love her, and so true.

    21. 121

I LOVE that quote and I LOVE Lady GaGa!! I wish you hadn't put that picture with that quote because that picture is kinda displaying everything she's talking about in the quote. I'm not saying that she's like that but the picture makes it seem that way. I think her songs and videos are sexual but she's very strong and she represents female empowerment. I have to say Lady GaGa is a role model to me.

      122

um… so what's the difference between lady gaga and a sexy pop star who is covered in grease and touching herself? please. her style screams "attention whore" all the time! what she said didn't make sense. dismiss. next dumb quote pls.

    23. 123

Christina Aguilera has been talking about how strong women are perceived in the industry for a long, long time.

      124

      what sexy pop star????
so the initial plan was to put another woman`s face on her record?
caca, you`re the epitome of uglyness. sexy is the exact opposite of what you are. get a grip!

    25. 125

I love her make up in this pic!

    26. 126

I'm not a big fan of her music but I'm with her on that one.

    27. 127

hm. wasn't there photos of her writhing around on rocks or did i just dream that? more like a nightmare, and she's naked more often than not. hypo.

    28. 128

      SAGGERS!

      129

uhm.. wow she is delusional about her own image… I've seen her do plenty of writhing, maybe not in the sand, but a certain LOVE GAME video where she's pretty much naked simulated sex with two men. I don't know, guess she considers that a strong feminist image.

Re: the Period – As far as original comments are concerned The Period's were the only in this thread.

    31. 131

That's what Siouxsie Sioux was saying back in the 1970's. Shame that females still have to go through this SHIT.

    32. 132

I thought she was Coutney Love in this pic!

    33. 133

writhing in grease= bad but going on stage (not to mention walking down the street) with your boobs hanging out or wearing a leotard cut so high the world becomes your gyno is some kind of feminist statement? Fuck off Gaga, you're nothing more than (another) talentless hack who tries "wacky" to distract from that fact. Constantly faffing on that she's "always" dressed like that when clearly she forgot people took numerous photos of her looking like an ordinary chick just before she got famous

    34. 134

She's totally right, but she still scares the shit out of me!

    35. 135

SHE LOOKS JUST LIKE CHRISTINA AGUILERA in that pic! Already been done!
