Music insiders are claiming that Rihanna is looking to release another album - this summer.
Supposedly, Princess RiRi is looking to have a lighter sound in this upcoming disc, something more fun than Rated R, proving that she has moved on from her "dark period."
Wonderful! Getting back to the basics! This is a good thing!

Her album hasn't had disappointing sales you asshole. It's still in the top 20 of the top 100 album chart and still selling. It's also a critically acclaimed album and will probably win a bunch of grammy's next year, rightfully so. This is one of the best albums of the year. It's one that grows on you the more you listen to it until you can't get it out of your head. It's better then your precious GaGa's album.

I'm not sold on her and think the hype makes her even more overrated. This last album was horrendous, not a single song that I thought was good and I actually really liked Good Girl Gone Bad. She needs to disappear for a bit and come out with some really good songs and not rush it and make cookie cutter R&B/Pop crap that anyone else could have sang. Besides I'd personally like to see Rihanna go away for a bit and Janet Jackson redeem herself since Janet is a far better entertainer and has always made better music aside from mediocre recent albums.

Yes! She's finally come to her senses! I understand that following the whole Chris Brown incident she had some things she needed to get off her chest. Unfortunately, Rated R, while it's not bad at all, there are actually some gems on it, is not nearly as good as Good Girl Gone Bad. Her dark, badass image doesn't suit her at all. I want cute, fun, sunny, sexy Rihanna back!!!
Really? Already? After this shitastic album you'd think she'd take time off to actually put in WORK on her next one. Albums that are cookie factory made and produced are shitty ones.
This is not true. Rihanna's recording tracks for a "reloaded" version of Rated R. She has a track with the Ting Tings, David Guetta and more. She's not releasing a new album, she's about to go on tour to support Rated R. But I agree that commercially, the album is not doing as well as people probably had hoped. They think it's all dark and depressing but really it's her best work to date. Also Perez, you should be prasing Rihanna for going the risky route. Too many artists play it safe and it's refreshing that Rihanna would go out on a limb and risk low sales for a truly great album. Rated R is amazing and she still has about two or three more potential singles on it: "Photographs", "Fire Bomb", "Te Amo" and "Cold Case Love" or "Rockstar 101". Besides, "Rude Boy" is outselling Lady Gaga's "Telephone" right now, so why would they put out a new album if the current one is doing just fine?
I don't care - she isn't very talented, and now that her 'victim, poor me' spotlight is fading, she's getting desparate. Maybe she'll have some midget strippers in her video…..

It's possible the album you heard about from your "insiders" just may be a remix or greatest hits album. Even if she was releasing a new album, "Rated R" was hardly the disappointment that you're trying to claim it is (it spawned 3 top ten international hits as well as numerous gold and platinum certifications worldwide). It's amazing how some people take everything you report as the gospel truth.
