Marie Osmond's Son Commits Suicide
Absolutely heartbreaking.
Marie Osmond's teenaged son Michael Blosil intentionally jumped to his own death off of his downtown Los Angeles apartment building on Friday night.
Blosil left a suicide note stating that due his struggle with depression, he was left "feeling as if he had no friends and could never fit in."
Osmond went public with her son's problems in 2007 when she shared on Larry King Live that 16-year-old Blosil had checked into rehab for "suffering from some issues."
Donny Osmond released a statement to the media on Saturday, solely saying, "Please pray for my sister and her family."
Our thoughts are with the Osmond family during this difficult time.

She stayed home for YEARS out of the spotlight raising her family. What, she's not allowed to go to work when her agent calls her with a brief gig that pays really well? She's gracious, cheerful, classy, and I've seen no evidence of her trying to behave like a teenager. I've seen her behaving like an adult who is trying to bring income back to support her family, because she's a single mom. I believe Michael Blosil was one, so her own personal bout with depression may not have been handed down genetically, referring to a previous poster's thoughts. If your mother was a pill popping diet pill addicted psycho nut that was more concerned about her dolls or being reborn on Dancing with the Stars than her six kids who were brought up in the Mormon church where would you turn for help? I'm suprised Marie didn't just kill him so his funeral wouldn't interfere with her and Donny's show in Vegas!

Just want to clear up a few things here. First off, Marie is a WONDERFUL Mom to all 8 of her kids. they are the priority in her life. Everywhere she is, her kids are there if possible. Second, Marie DID NOT let the press know about Michaels rehab….it was brought to light by Larry King during a live interview. If anyone watched you could see by both Donny and Maries faces that they were NOT expecting him to ask about it. Even being blindsided by Mr King, she was classy and said that it was Michaels issue and if he wanted to talk about it he would….that is wasnt her place. The only thing she has said was that she was very proud of him.
Her ex husbands name is Brian….NOT Michael Sr as someone posted. Also, to whoever said it has to be a family trait…Michael was one of her adopted children, so he couldnt have "inheirated" anything form her. As for her "fake" faint on DWTS…the woman has asthma as does her oldest son Stephen (who is NOT a Jr BTW). As someone that cared for my mother who had asthma…that was no "fake faint"

Is it just a coincidence that Alexander McQueen, Andrew Koenig, and now Michael Blosil committed suicide in close relation to each other. We must start talking about suicide and its reality NOT just when a semi-famous person dies, but have the discussion be part of daily life, so that those with mental illness, such as myself feel less alone and less afraid to share suicidal feelings. I've been near the edge, but credit my counseling training in knowing that I need to talk and that my medications need to be reviewed. However, there were times when my rational mind wasn't working, but luckily I still told my husband. My thoughts are will all those who have lost loved ones to suicide or who are contemplating it, themselves. It's easy to say "Suicide is NEVER the answer", but to the depressed person, its not to black and white. Encourage them to speak out and lend your heart and your time.

My prayers and condolences to Marie, her family, and her son's friends (I'm sure he had some despite his feelings…feelings are not facts). So soon after Andrew Koenig's suicide. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. ALL problems are temporary. I wonder if Michael was on psychiatric meds. The problem is side effects can BE depression and suicidal ideation (even if none existed before). Andrew stopped taking his meds a year ago because he didn't want to be on them. However, unless one completely detoxes from all drugs (legal and not) and actively pursues non-drug therapies, it may be more possible to fail than to succeed. There are psychiatrists who use diet, supplements, exercise and talk therapy first and drugs as a last resort but there aren't enough. Some are Gabriel Cousens, David Burns and Daniel Amen. They have books one can read about their therapies. Also, the self-help group Recovery International based on the teachings of Dr. Lowe can be very helpful.
We need like a depression support group.

THOSE CEREMONIALS, INSPIRED FROM FREE MACONISM, ARE QUIET SCARY AND CREEPY.
SPECIALY ON SUCH A YOUNG CHILD, SUFFERING FROM DEPRESSION, WITH SUICIDAL THOUGHTS.

In defense of the mormon church, from someone who knows first hand. What is wrong with religion and believing in God and in Jesus? The only tag, related to the Mormon faith is the one of paligamy, where it's been stated by web sites that we believe in marriage to more than one person. This is not permitted and hasn't been for hundreds of years. It was thrown out. A mistake made by men, years and years ago. We have a proclamation to the family, which asks all, who are married to live and love their children and husbands and wifes. What is wrong with that. Also. We are also asked to quit drinking, smoking, drugs, prescriptions, tea and any kind of caffeine beverage. Intaking nothing but hearty nutritious foods. What is wrong with that? Its called the word of wisdom. Asking the youth, to abstain from sex, until they are married is not a sin. It is out of respect for their bodies. This world cares nothing about themselves, poisoning themselves daily with over indulgence, on every scale. Read, about the Mormons on Wikipedia, not on the net, and get your facts straight. Ignorance, leads to falsity.

Ocean - Most 18 yr. olds are pretty independent, and rarely want to go anywhere with their parents unless they have to, because they have their own life and plans, depression or not. They also don't talk much to their parents about that kind of stuff, because they usually want to handle it themselves. You assume a lot about someone else's situation which would be unknown to you, and your assumptions are mere guesswork. Who keeps their 18 yr. old at their side 24/7? What 18 yr. old would go along with that? They'd say they were great just to escape that. Ultimately you cannot control what another person is bound to do unless know they're suicidal and you lock them in a room. She's not God.
