Canada's Women's Hockey Team Are NOT Under Investigation, But They're Still Sorry!
Although the girls of Canada's gold-medal-winning women's hockey team turned heads with their hard-pAArtying on the ice after winning the gold, a spokesman for the International Olympic Committee says there will not be an investigation of the celebration!

"To be honest I think people are in search of a story that doesn't exist," says the rep. "There were pictures all over the front pages and so on this morning, and I think people are looking for someone to say it's terrible."
But it's not!
The team is planning to offer a written apology to the Olympic Committee, and the team members seem to be honestly sorry for their actions.
"I'm really sorry for what happened," said team member Marie-Philip Poulin. "I think we just wanted to enjoy the moment and that's just what happened. And it won't happen again. We've learned from that. We're just going to enjoy that medal right now."

As a proud Canadian myself, if I won a fucking gold medal in my country, playing a relatively Canadian sport, I'd be doing the same thing! Lately, people just like to get outraged about the little things like this, and Tiger Woods and the word retard to fill in news hours. Vancouver is made up of a large population of potheads and drinkers; it's not really shocking, and I don't see how drinking on a rink in a country that is known for HOCKEY AND BEER is offensive. Love the pic btw. Is she wearing those shutter sunglasses, though? That's the only danger on that rink.
Why aren't they being asked to leave? Canadians get a pass because their the host country? Scotty was kicked to the curb because he and some girl were acting a fool with his medal. So chugging alcohol and smoking cigars is a more acceptable image right. I don't think anyone should have been singled out for either action but it doesn't seem fair.

The "problem" wasn't with their celebration. That was AFTER all the fans left the building. The real issue was that Marie Poulin is not of legal drinking age. She doesn't turn 19 until next month, and in BC the drinking age is 19. However, she comes from Quebec and trained in Alberta, the drinking age in both provinces is 18, so if she was used to "celebrating" with her team-mates, they all likely just got carried away and didn't even consider she wasn't old enough to be drinking in BC. It's really a non-issue, and somebody was just looking for something to bitch about, IMO. They played hard and made Canada proud (as usual!) and they deserve to celebrate!

next womens sport event I want to see an 18 year old boy with a ripped body in a thong hand over the trophy or award to the women while they pour champagne on one anothers heads in front of live press and cameras for millions to see. Why ? Because that is what many many mens professional and amateur sports do. Then the women kisses the man. Why? This is not related to the sport. This is a disgusting practice which demoralizes women in the worst way. And I never hear the public out cry over it. Why did the women athletes at the 2010 Winter Olympics face discrimination.
