Regardless, the Idol alum is speaking extremely candidly about his past drug use with the media opposed to pretending that part of his life never occurred!
Says Glambert:
I went wild and I was experimenting with certain substances… At 26 I started running with hippies, going to underground events, I was really drawn to that crowd, everyone embraced each other’s differences. It didn’t get to the stage where it ruined my life or where it was anything too serious but it was definitely something I tried.
There are certain drugs out there that are really fun and recreational and can mean a good time. I’m not an advocate for drugs but it is all rock and roll and we are all adults.

I like how whenever people talk about drugs they talk about how it can effect *their* lives. Well if he was snorting coke he was just tossing money at the sex trade and arms dealers, even if he was snorting someone else's and giving them incentive to buy more that's still on his shoulders partly. Whole families have been executed over drugs, people have been chopped up into little pieces over them and when you do them you contribute to that.
The last part is lame too. Yeah, you and Ke$ha toke fatties together and gush about how hawt you think you are. It's the only way you'll be at all compelling.

alcohol can turn people into vegetables too…theres been studies that have proven alcohol and cigarettes to be far more damaging than other "harder" substances-obviously something like heroin wouldn't be less damaging but ecstasy falls under there (the less damaging). so many people are misinformed about drugs and there are really a lot of benefits to them if used correctly.

I think society wants people to believe that if you do drugs your a total mess, and that can't be farther from the truth. Like drugs, ANYTHING can be abused if you let it take over your life. I know lots of people who are very successful people, both in work and family that occasionally take ecstacy. They go out, they dance, they go home at the end of the night, and life goes on…. Sure there are going to be people who abuse, but again, there are people out there who are hooked on sudafed!
It's all a matter of perspective..And I am glad that he spoke up about it, he's is sure as hell not alone…He's just one of the few who are brave enough to say it. KUDOS Lambert!!

They left out the real kicker, where Glambert first said "There are so many parents who are too conservative in America. Brutal honesty. Something far too rare in the United States (and much of the world) today. I love Adam because he is talented, but he also never seems to make any excuses for who he is nor does he feel the need to attempt such. Many of us have done the very same (or are currently doing such), but either feel the need to hide it, lie about it, or feel guilty because society does not permit such choices without judgement. I applaud him, and advise everyone to accept people's differences and that some of us can actually experiment with some things and experience different aspects of life without if defining us or restricting who we become as responsible adults.
I do not hope that everyone does drugs, but I DO hope that many people will learn to accept one another's differences and that we do not all like the same things. That does not make us bad. If we are not hurting anyone (beyond ourselves, potentially), why must anyone criticize or hate on us? I don't do drugs (anymore), but I can honestly say that I would not be who I am nor would I have become as open-minded or loving and accepting as I now am.
