Who is taking care of her 8 kids? I love how everyone gives Octomom crap about her army of kids but at least she is at home with them. I used to be team Kate but she is just as bad as John. i literally laughed so hard when i read that. do you think she'll be spending all her free time during dancing with the stars with her kids? negative. nannies will be taking care of her kids while she attempts to stay in the limelight with this stupid show. explain to me how that's better than her working doubles and turning her kids into latchkey kids? i was a latchkey kid and at least i know my mother worked her double shifts to make sure me and my siblings had everything we needed. kate's kids are going to grow up realizing that their mother is doing this crap because she's a famewhore, not because she wants to provide for them.
While I sympathize with her plight to a very limited degree, there are far better ways she can capitalize off her fame. Write a cookbook of cheap, easy recipes for large families. Write and illustrate a series of children's books. Combine her nursing background with her parenting experience and write a how-to guide for parents to identify and treat common children's illnesses, black and blues, etc. DWTS is notorious for demanding all its contestants' time and energy. It is almost like she is trying to subvert her (mostly rhetorical) attempts to convince people she's a halfway decent parent.
Overall, she needs to re-think her attitude towards parenting and material wealth. When you're a kid, things and experiences aren't special because they're expensive or unavailable to most other kids. They're special because they provide a pleasant break from a stable routine. It seems like she wants exotic vacations and celebrity treatment to be the norm for her children, rather than the exception. If her children grow accustomed to this lifestyle, life's luxuries will lose their special quality to them, which could lead to depression, substance abuse, and copious other unintended consequences.
So, end of the day, while I'm typically loathe to rejoice in schaudenfreude, let's hope she goes the way of Tom DeLay.

You know, unlike Octo-Mom, its not like Kate wanted eight kids, they happened and she had them. Then she got divorced because her husband went to look elsewhere, and it happened on TV because they had a TV show.
Now that she probably needs it the most, she doesn't have a TV show to rely on for income. She's not making millions to feed, clothe, and keep a shelter over her kids clothes, not withstanding the fact that they are in therapy, and that because of americas obsession with her divorce she had to get bodyguards.
And now because she's alone she needs a nanny.
So she could go back to work and leave her kids to fend for themselves with perfect strangers, and be less well fed, and live in a shitty house, and never see their mom because she's always at work…
OR she could set her ego aside and make a fool of herself on live television to make a couple hundred thousand to try and insure the future of her children.
