American Idol alum Constantine Maroulis doesn't believe the show will survive once Simon Cowell makes his grand exit!
"It's unfortunate. He's a mogul and going to go on to greater and greater things … but the show is really going to miss him," said Constantine.
"I hope they just end it after this year," the former AI contestant spouted.

i agree with constantine. a good portion of the appeal of idol is simon, esp for viewers who are not "music' people. the show sucks anyway this season, even with simon there. next season is going to be terrible. if they're smart, they'll cancel it and replace it with x factor

When I watch AI now I can see that Simon is just not into it anymore. The show really lost it's heart when Paula left. Constantine is right….end it.

i know perez is hoping to take over simon's spot, but i agree that they should just cancel the show. hell, i don't even watch past the city auditions anymore because it's gotten boring to me. the only entertaining part is when they go to the different cities and we get to see simon's priceless reactions to the auditions. i'm sure perez could be just as brutally honest as simon is, but i don't think he'll be able to carry the show like simon does. it's time to let ai go.

I totally agree!! I definitely won't be watching next year without Simon. I keep thinking that maybe if they got somebody good to replace him then maybe I would watch, but I don't think there is anybody as entertaining as Simon. Howard Stern keeps thinking that he should be on, but who even likes him anymore???? It's like, 1995 called, they want their shock-jock radio show back. I mean seriously he isn't even relevant at all!!! And I would REALLY hope the show gets canceled if Perez did get hired by some miracle. That would be REALLY terrible. Constantine is actually right!!

Not a fan of constantine - but i hear he is rocking it on Broadway - and, I've got to say - I 100% agree with him. This year is really sub par already… the contestants are very disappointing - but Simon still makes the show. Without him it is not AI

Just stop Idol. My Mom and I noticed something funny when watching. We DVR the show for the commercials are insane so we want to fast forward through them. Only thing is we don't just fast forward commercials we also fast forward through all the judges but Simon. Simon is the only one who knows what they are talking about. My Mom and I dislike Ellen now for she brings nothing at all to the show. Just cancel. I'm sorry, but if you hosted the show it would fail, because you piss a lot of people off.

I think they should bring back a former IDOL Alumni that did very well if not won the competion to keep it credible, the show got worse with Kara added (why a 4th judge?) and now that Paula's gone there is not one singer on the panel. I don't like this much.

It is getting old now. People only care about auditions (which I'm pretty sure 99% of the "funny" ones are fake - people just wanting to get 5 minutes of fame).
