She's about to get really dark!
Angelina Jolie is in talks to star in the film adaptation of the Ron Rash novel Serena: A Novel. With Darren Aronofsky directing, the period piece would star Angie as Serena, the wife of a logger who helps him create a timber empire. That is, until she realizes she can't have children and she sets out to murder the son her husband fathered illegitimately.
Yikes! A psychopathic Angelina! Last time we saw her get that dark, she won an Oscar!

how about she stays home for 5 minutes so the nannies can reintroduce the children to the woman who calls herself (legally) their mother? on the other hand she could never be anything but a rotten influence on them so maybe it's better they never really meet and get to know her. just keep referring to her as "that scary lady that makes us pose for pictures with her in public".
already giving her the oscar mario? just another same type role for her-she always goes for the roles with guns, violence and/or screaming. so, this is nothing new. how about a lite comedy for once?

Her recent films have been pretty crapy. Darren Aronofsky is an AMAZING director (i.e. Requiem for a Dream, Pi, The Wrestler). He is good at doing dark and thats all she is good at.
Finally a better role. She is best in darker films like Girl Interrupted, Changeling, Gia, etc. She is a really talented actress but I do not like her in all these stupid action flicks. So this should be really good!

So exciting! The book is an amazing piece of literature. Angie will be perfect as Serena, who is a cold hearted bitch. I'm just so glad that Ron Rash will finally start to get the recognition that he so dearly deserves. Everyone should read the book!

This was an excellent book, I can see her as the character, except the character is a blonde, bob hair style ice queen. Not crazy about Angelina, but would see the movie. Hopefully she will play as awful as character is written. Extremely unsympathetic.
So happy to hear this! Ron Rash is an amazing writer who was also my English professor at Western Carolina University. Read Serena, and my other favorite book of his One foot in Eden. Angelina if perfect for the role of Serena!
