Are they serious?

Shrek Forever After, the 4th in the series, will be the opening-night film at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival on April 21.

"We have always sought to open our festival with films that are captivating and strike an emotional chord with moviegoers," Tribeca co-founder Jane Rosenthal explains. "Shrek Forever After combines the very best in storytelling and artistry while showcasing the wonders of innovative 3D filmmaking."

Umm, if you say so. The latest Shrek movie will feature Rumpelstilskin tricking the lovable Scottish ogre into "signing away the life he has known."

We like Shrek as much as the next kid, but to open a film festival?!

It better be good!

      That's…pretty dumb.

I'm really not looking forward to the new "Shrek" movie. I don't know anyone else who is either. Kids, I presume, but my little sister is finally growing out of that phase.

Actors/Actresses should be PISSED that any animated series is taking the place of their craft. Why was it wrong for NBC to have a 10PM variety hour but OK for cartoons made from PIXAR to get accolades?
      .
I'm OK with animation. Just the hypocrisy is unbelievable.
