Johnny Depp Can't Watch Himself In 3-D!!

Fun little fact: Johnny Depp will never get to experience himself in 3-D!!
The quirky actor revealed to Entertainment Weekly that because of a disability in his left eye, he is physically UNABLE to see the visual effect employed in his latest flick, Alice in Wonderland!!
He says:
"I'm actually unable to see 3-D. Ive got a weird thing where I don't see properly out of my left eye, so I truly can't see 3-D. So I have an excuse [not to watch myself] this time."
He doesn't seem like the type to really get into 3-D movies so we're sure he's not too upset over it!!

I have the exact same eye issue…and had not ever been able to see via the traditional blue/red 3-d..however, the VERY first time I was able to see a 3-d movie was years ago…and it was Captain EO at Disneyland…I was overwhelmed at how frikkin amazing it can…not sure what type of 3-d it is, but it worked!
My friend can't see depth perception. When he watched a 3D movie he was like "Is this how everyone actually sees everyday??"
I can't see 3D either!! But I'm now happy in the knowledge I'm in good company!
usually it just makes people laugh to think of me looking at cardboard cut-out style sets everyday (for the record, i don't know if that's true, because i wouldn't know how 'normal' looked :-/)
I thought I was the only one! What a relief!
My friends all made fun of me for not getting the whole 3D effect thing…
Actually, with the new 3D technology you don't have to have sight in both eyes to see the 3d effects…. so poor Johnny can watch his own movies, and so can all you other people out there who have never been able to watch it before.
Polarized lenses don't work the same way as the old red/green or red/blue glasses. Each lens is not dependent on the other to function. My mom is legally blind in one eye, and she watch Avatar in 3D… her first 3D film ever. There are probably still some people out there who can't see 3D, but for the majority of people who couldn't see 3d before… TADA!!! now you can!!!

You WISH you would know any shit about him you fat fuck. you dont know NOTHING. so please get over yourself and SHUT THE FUCK UP.
oh my god! same here! my mouth totally dropped when i read this. iv felt so left out of this whole 3-d thing. everyones getting so into it and it doesnt look like anythign to me. im pretty much blind in my left eye and slightly colour blind so i dont think even the new polarized 3d will work for me.
Same thing! I am blind in one eye, and as a kid could not watch 3D, but I've seen Avatar in 3D twice now and it's all good, thankfully. =)
Fun Little Fact: If Perez actually did any research (or told his little monkeys to do the same) he would know that Depp has never seen any of his own films. He separates himself from them completely, not even at the premieres. RESEARCH FAIL
My husband lost his left eye over 20 years ago but had been blind in it since 2. I think it bugs him a bit that he can't do the 3D thing but that's life. Of course as a result I haven't seen a 3D movie in years either. Again no big deal
Re: maegers – Really? we were both wondering. Thanks for this bit of info. Gonna go see a 3D movie soon just to check it out
Yay, i'm not the only one! Been living in 2D and scaring other drivers on the road since an accident in 1980. Kizz125. Having been previously able to see in 3D everything really is all cardboard cutout now. However 3D movies do give me an exaggerated kind of depth perception. I always cry when I have to leave the movie at go back to the flat world outside.
yea i figure the polarized lens would help everyone out, those red/blue/orange ones were ok, but things didn't really pop out that much at all in the first place… omg avatar was my first 3-d imax and it was epic… i love 4-d at disneyland and universal because they pop out even more!
I don't think he even watches his own movies, regardless of if they're 3-D or not….most actors and actresses don't. I'm super excited to see Alice In Wonderland though!! I'm seeing it on my b-day with some friends =)
