Mariah Carey was booed after being AN HOUR late for her final concert on the Angels and Advocates tour in Las Vegas. Mimi gave the following BS excuse:
"I'd like to apologize for my tardiness. You probably won't believe me, and they'll probably make a big thing of it, 'oh Mariah had to get her doctor in', but I got sick yet again because it's winter, I didn't think I could come out here tonight.
"But I was very grateful I could get some sleep and we could pull it together. It's not so glam at 6.30 in the morning when you're coughing and sounding like a frog."
We think she's full of shiz, but it's Mariah Carey — what did the audience expect!

Yes, they had every right to BOO. You buy a ticket, you leave for the show sometimes HOURS ahead of time, pay for parking sometimes… then wait for an hour while the stage is empty??? She should have refunded their money and given them a free show. Hell yes, lipsyncing is not that difficult!!!

i was at the concert and she was more than an hour late. she did not sing that many songs and kept leaving the stage. in her defense though…u could hear her voice a little different as if she had indeed been sick. :S

I was there - and it wasn't any HOUR LATE. It as nearly 90 MINUTES!! By the time she started the entire place was P-I-S-S-E-D and booing with each new Michael Jackson song played on the speakers. 20% of the audience stomped out and a fight broke out in the audience 10 rows behind me. To top it off . . . . she STUNK (and is preggers or just fat)!! NOT FUN and a complete waste of a Saturday night in Vegas!! Screw her. Never again. . .

I'm not a Mariah fan; I think her diva act is a bit much. No one loves her like she does. I figure she's forgotten how important the paying public is; if you schedule a concert to begin at a certain time, be there … ON TIME. Nothing says thank you to the people who were there like some respect. That said, I have to balance that with the comment that no matter how she dresses (her clothes really ARE too tight for her chunky body), she still has a great voice. Whereas Whitney Houston has trashed her, Mariah has not. Mariah, some advise: If you're "sick," reschedule. The people who go to your events pay to see you perform at your best.
She did this when she was in Canada too.. My friend went to see her in concert and she told me that she was over an hour late to come on stage because she said she was "sick"!!! load of crap..
