Here's the just-released second trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal's latest, The Prince of Persia.

The special effects are cool, but the rest sort of looks…meh.

And WTF is up with Jakey's accent??

What do you expect from yet another video game turned movie??

      I'm getting a Mummy/Lord of the Rings feeling here. I hope this movie is original and not a cookie cutter. Gemma Arterton is a beautiful/great actress. I hope this movie catapults her to mega stardom!

      His Accent sounds Australian! Aussie is a very hard accent to do for Americans. Jake has sort of mastered it accidentally!

I live in Oxford, he sounds better than most of the british people in the south of England, and my god it suits him lol Love it and will see it. Was reading the other day in 'Total Film Magazine that they have the inventor of Parkour, David Belle doing some of the stunts. So I am definitly seeing it.

      ive been living in america for the last year and it seems to me that every american i meet, who then insists on imitating my british accent, seems to think we all sound like dick van dyke in mary poppins..or hugh grant in every movie hes ever been in.
      Perez- watch some decent british actors in their movies and u might realise that this accent is actually pretty good. I live in the south of england and me and my family/friends all pretty much sound like this. so SOD OFF with the 'WTF is up with Jakey's accent!' shit!!!!

      Re: gaga101 – He actually has a twinge of Austrailian like accent in there at the beginning, if your are trying to figure out why Perez is confused.
      But you are right, his accent it pretty good for a british impression.

      Considering though, that this is the price of Persia, I don't quite understand where the British come in, as they never colonized there - and have little to no history in the area.

      Perez - his accent may seem odd to you - but it also matches the girl's.
      So they must have been going for that dialect.

      Wrong, in 1941 Russia and the UK invaded and occupied Iran. Then in 1953 the UK secret service and the CIA organized the overthrow of the Iranian government and installed the Shah as their puppet.
