This is incredible!

Roger Ebert is premiering his new computer-generated voice that was based on hours of footage from his past movie reviews on an upcoming episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show and it is truly amazing!

His wife's reaction is so touching and we're very happy for both of them!

Aw man ..he's (they have both) been through so much ..Good for him to at least be able to hear his own voice

I know his wife…..she is NOT inspiring. She is an entitled witch that thinks people are only there to do things for her.

  12. 12

Wow that's incredible, he must be so happy:)

Awwwwwwww. This is a good example of how amazing technology can be when used for good causes. Roger is such a courageous man, and he and his wife are the epitome of true love. Very inspirational.

Re: BrookeC – FFS this is not about his wife, it's about him! Jeez, some people will take any opportunity to be nasty.

  17. 17

aww that softened my heart a little :)

Bless his heart. He's been through so much. But one has to wonder what both he and Gene were exposed to? Maybe something in the building? I believe Roger said his cancer stems from teeth xrays rece'd as a child, but it is uncanny that both he and Gene suffered from such debilitating cancers.

    Beautiful, touching and INSPIRATIONAL!

That's amazing what technology can do; I've only seen still photos of Ebert since the surgery some years ago, but he's doing damn well for a guy who lost his jaw.

He's still my inspiration. He's the reason why I want to write, and I applaud him for his courage and his willpower.

Re: BrookeC – and then somehow someone manages to ruin this speacial moment. How is she a witch? did you take witchcraft lessons together?

Through all his hardships, he still writes some of the best reviews in the business. I enjoyed hearing him again, and look forward to V-Ebert Mark II.

  36. 36

Glad I am not the only one who got choked up by this….

  37. 37

I guess I'm the only one who found this weird and creepy…………..

  38. 38

Love, love, love it! What an amazing human being besides being extremely brilliant pulitzer prize winning writer. God had a plan for everyone and Roger is and extraordinary human being.

I saw them on Oprah. His doctor were ready to give up, but his would was not ready to give up on him. His wife would not allow him die. What a couple.

Making the most out of a tough situation, I'm happy they're happy. I think his salivary gland cancer is the tip of the iceberg for cell phone users (that and brain tumors…here they come!). Text, use speakerphone or use one of the wired earplugs that has air space between the earplug and the wire and you'll reduce/eliminate expose to microwaves to your brain/face. Adam Yauch also had salivary gland area tumor. I wish Ebert had researched and investigated alternative cancer therapies and not had to go thru what he's gone thru. They are out there and I personally know some amazing people who were given death sentences and are alive and cancer free 10+ years later without having had chemo or radiation (use surgery to remove larger tumors and smaller ones can shrink to disappear and not return upon CAT scans). PS - I don't wear a tinfoil hat :) !
