Russia Is Pissed!

Despite winning 15 medals at the Vancouver Olympics, Russian is seriously lacking sportsmanship!

Russian president Dmitry Medvedev is even asking for resignations from those responsible for the lackluster showing! But they did great! They country came in 6th in the overall medal count, but Russia is all pissy because they didn't win the 40 medals that said they were gonna win. A number like that is unheard of!!!

They are actively preparing for hosting the 2014 games on their own turf to right the wrong!

Medvedev said:

"Those who bear the responsibility for Olympic preparations should carry that responsibility. It's totally clear. I think that the individuals responsible, or several of them, who answer for these preparations, should take the courageous decision to hand in their notice. If we don't see such decisiveness, we will help them."

"Without messing around, we need to start preparations for Sochi. But taking into account what happened in Vancouver, we need to completely change how we prepare our athletes.

Chill out! Take a break for a few months or better yet, concentrate on efforts that will actually improve your country!

Stoopid.

    2. 2

"They country"? "40 medals that said they were gonna win"? You get the gold for poor grammer Perez.

    3. 3

Perez who is writing this for you?? Are you hiring people now to bog for you?

    4. 4

It's just a bunch of games. It's not like it's some kind of war. Christ. It's supposed to be FUN!

    5. 5

Maybe they should not Host 2014!!!! I have young children that react better to loss then this. You placed 6th….. 6th in the world…. WTF not good enough for you? "If your not first your last" Russia sounds like Ricky Bobby…. ignorant

    6. 6

What a bunch of crybabies. They blamed the host Canadians for figure skating judging issues and excessive drug testing of their athletes. The problem is the IOC is responsible for these, not the host nation.
After Canada smoked the Russians in mens hockey, a Russian source accused the Canadians of using illegal drugs.
They also called Vancouver "a city unfit to host the Olympic games". Thats funny.

    7. 7

      Wow.. Russia is LAME.

    8. 8

OMG!!!! That was the worst! written posting in a long time!!!! Which is saying a lot!!! Because your spelling is usually awful!! And you use way too many exclamation points!!! See how hard it is to read crap like this, Perez? (or the retarded sister, who probably crafted this post.)

you know russia is going to be doing everything they can to eliminate the competition in 2014.

that means an increase in food poisoning, broken bones, equipment accidentally being lost or damaged…

      sounds like fun.

      Re: Butternuts – !!!lol!!!exclamation points!!!crafted!!!
I can see her now with her safety blade paper scissors, pot of runny glue, egg cartons, pipe cleaners & shaker jar of glitter as she prepares to craft us some more literary masterpieces

    12. 12

I liked how in each competition they gave the U.S. the lowest scores, most of which were undeserved… So, see, Russia–Karma really IS a bitch!!! Douches!

    13. 13

I don't understand why he thinks it's the Olympics Committee's fault they placed 6th? Am I missing something?? Why would people hand in their resignations? Obviously certain countries were well prepared and did better than others. SImple as that.

This prez seems like such a douche, especially saying they're now considering that mulleted figure skater's silver medal as a gold in Russia. You can say it's gold all you want, it still doesn't make it gold.

    14. 14

great advice…forward this to washington cause that's the country that needs improving STOOPID!

      Re: StarCrunch
Yeah I remember reading that, they went on some crazy rant. I would watch out in 2014 though make sure they don't manipulate results.

    16. 16

-I'll take pissed off…tired of two fucking hours of polite at the shiteous closing ceremonies.
      -
-I'm going through Olympic withdrawal though.

    17. 17

Whatever. Russia is still the best.

    18. 18

I Love Russia but chill out

    19. 19

Look where things are taken out of context! Medvedev was referring to overall prep of their team and comments made by individual team members and team staff during the games. He does not see it as acceptable and this is what he meant in his speech. If you want sour losers, count how many times American radio host and TV host downgraded the Canadian hockey team suggesting that not the best team won. A bunch of hypocrites!

    20. 20

The REASON why the president is so pissed is because of the way the Olympic funds were spent. I'm a Russian/American and spend time in both countries. Currently I'm sitting here in Siberia and the OUTRAGE of this whole olympic debauchle is that more than HALF of the olympic funds were handed out as pocket money to corrupt politicians leaving russian athletes with less than sufficient funds to be spent on olympic preperation. Russia is an EXTREMELY corrupt country as you all may have heard but unless you live here you really won't understand the goings on as the news is pure SLANDER and owned by Putin himself. There IS a reason why so many journalists go missing in this country.

    21. 21

They're pissed about their men's hockey team; as they should be. I'm an avid follower of the NHL, and the Russians had 6 of the best players in the world on their team (and on their powerplay) and they couldn't do crap. They got completely embarrassed by their biggest rivals (Canada) in the quarter finals, so they didn't medal. That whole country has a right to pissed off, mostly at Russian management and coaching, which is where the politics come into play. They took a bunch of players from their Russian version of the NHL to "prove a point" so to speak. They wanted to prove that the KHL could compete with the NHL, and they fell flat on their faces doing so. On top of that, Bykov (the Russian coach) is an idiot. There were horrible coaching decisions all throughout the tournament starting from the shootout fiasco, not giving enough ice time to their best players and his idiotic defensive system.

It's understandable, it is being taken too seriously, but it is understandable.

    22. 22

who is writing this? a five year old… learn to spell… grammar sucks to..

    23. 23

You need better ghost writers, Perez, because I'm starting to think that you have a blogging sweatshop over seas or something.

    24. 24

I am Canadian……so we should be pissed off because we were supposed to "own" the podium? I don't think so. There is always someone out there better than you! Russia….that is some good sportsmanship you have!

    25. 25

Get over it Russia! Come on

"They country came in 6th in the overall medal count"

      It's a LIE!

Russia came in 11th in the overall medal count!
Lowest place for Russia in History of Olympic Games.

So meybe that is an acceptable reason?

    28. I.Z. says – reply to this

      28

Idiot, Russia came in 11-th in the overall medal count. I understand why Medvedev is so pissed: this result is outrageous for a country with such great traditions in winter sports. They only won THREE Gold medals, less than tiny Switzerland and Netherlands. Compare this to 14 Gold medals for Canada and 9 Gold medals for the US - anyone would be pissed if you ask me, especially knowing how much money sport officials just wasted on partying in Vancouver.

    29. 29

you are the supid one perez, there like 100 spelling and grammar mistakes in this piece that's barely 5 sentences long. douchebag.
and wow there're a lot of hateful and racist people on here, who dont even know what they're talking about, but just speak out pure prejudice. lamo's

    30. 30

Old news Pigshit. You need to get out there and find some new news instead of ripping it off from other sites.

    31. 31

You can always tell when Perez isn't writing his own blog.

    32. 32

I don't know why Sochi, Russia was chosen. Russia has been responsible for alot of the cheating controversies in the past olympics. Russia has been responsible for cheating in sports like gymnastics, basketball, boxing, figure skating, and now their athletes have a doping problem. Their skiiers were disqualified because of doping. Then they have the audacity to blame everyone else for the problems they are having. Another country not associated with so much cheating should have been chosen.

    33. 33

Russia has notoriously been over the top when it comes to their Athletes. Why do you think so many of them defected to the USA in the 80's? If you're an athlete and don't do well then I feel sorry for you. Your family just might disappear. They're whacko over there.

    34. 34

beware of russia lol make sure our countries athletes are being treated well and fair not disappear or get wrong disqualified. gawd at least be proud of what those athletes in Russia have done.. this is their time not the administration. sore losers.

    35. 35

oh get the fuck over it. it's a sporting event. you don't get to win everytime. the russians are such poor losers. it's really distasteful.
