Spider-Man RECAST!!
Sources claim that that Percy Jackson kid, who in real life is named Logan Lerman, has officially been cast as the web-slinging superhero in the reboot of the Spider-Man movies, with Marc Webb, who made 500 Days of Zooey Deschanel, directing.
The story reportedly takes place when Peter Parker and company are still at high school in Queens, because apparently the Tobey Maguire version didn't cover that.
Oh wait. It did.
Webb is also asking James Cameron if they can use the Avatar director's cameras for this mess.
HA. We're sure Cameron is going to LOVE that.
We stand by what we said before: this whole reboot plan is STOOPID. The original isn't even EIGHT years old.

Update: Inside sources are revealing exclusively to PerezHilton.com that Logan has not signed on or even been offered the role. In fact, they haven't offered the role to anyone yet.

well perez, they have to either reboot or do a sequel because they will loose the rights to disney. Since the sequel has failed, they had no choice. It was either reboot or the rights go to disney and they get nothing. Aren't you supposed to catch on to this shit?
Have my doubts about this project. It will almost be like Home Alone 3. Without the original actors it got no chance to succeed.

Ever since The Dark Knight blew Marvel's movies out of the box office, they've been under pressure to bring Spiderman back to compete. The franchise was fine the way it is.
This kid was also in 'Meet Dave' and he was funny. But, come on!

The last spiderman movie sucked. I do not care if they do more sequels or basically start it over. As long as they keep making more movies I will be happy. That is if they can get it back on track after the last one. I think they want the subplots to revolve around high school more then the Tobey movies did. Nothing wrong with that. It is a good time in the Spiderman world. I just hope they do not retread story lines from the last 3. That is what the superman movie did.

A reboot doesn't necessarily have to occur ONLY to bring back a film franchise/title. Sometimes It's just nice to have a film that isn't a complete pile of steaming shit.

Seeing as how Peter Parker WASN'T BORN with his powers he got him senior year after being bitten by a genetically engineered spider while on a field trip. I thought this was a rumor that Logan denied a week back (he wasn't even beating around the bush, he said he was interested but he's not in the role or anything). I'd prefer if they just went with a fresh-faced newbie, but this guy seems ok too.

LORD, Please dont let the same thing happen to this movie, like it did with the Spider-man animated series. The animated series went from serious and action packed in the 1990's , to kid-directed and foolish in the present day. Please have someone take the reigns of this project and steer it in the right direction so that Spidey fans can take pride in going to the theatre to see this movie. Kids are gonna go see it anyway, because it's spider-Man in a red and blue jumpsuit. Please make the movie as serious as it started out to be. AMEN.

**sigh** Honestly in comic books, new writers and artists come and leave every few years, touching upon the same themes but upgrading. Movie comic book movie have done the SAME THING (Batman, The Hulk, Superman - have all been rebooted).
This movie is a welcome change, they are going to cast young so they can churn out another 3 movies this decade. On that note, this site is TANKING BIG TIME! I doubt it will be around much longer.

I think that doing a whole new reboot is a bit too much, but at the same time I don't think people will be dissapointed with the acting.
