Religious Fanatics Want To Kill Tilikum The Whale - And Then Some!
There are a lot of people who feel that Tilikum, the killer whale who violently killed his trainer last month, should be put down for what he did. The American Family Association have taken it one step further and are protesting to have the animal subjected to Judeo-Christian tradition and be stoned to death for killing Dawn Brancheau.
Stoning, really? Someone get these people a calender!
AFA Director Bryan Fisher put out a call to action on the organizations website, posting:
"If the counsel of the Judeo-Christian tradition had been followed, Tilikum would have been put out of everyone’s misery back in 1991 and would not have had the opportunity to claim two more human lives…Says the ancient civil code of Israel, 'When an ox gores a man or woman to death, the ox shall be stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten.'"
Oh, but that's not all!
Not only do they want the killer whale stoned, the "scriptures" also insist that owner of the animal has to die right along with it, since they failed to kill the animal after he claimed his firstvictim. The organization's choice of sinner - Chuck Tompkins, the curator of animals at SeaWorld.
So you want more people to die. That makes perfect sense. Very Christian of you. Exactly what Jesus would have done!
SeaWorld better start having security check for rocks on visitors before they come into the park! This could get serious!

i totally don't agree with killing the poor thing, but they can't really go about releasing it back into the wild. unfortunately, the animal has been in captivity for a long time and probably wouldn't survive long in the wild, wouldn't know how to feed itself etc.

No one wants the whale stoned, you are taking this scripture verse out of contex. This whale should be put down or put back into the ocean, he will either survive or not. Human life comes before animals. 3 deaths is inexcusable. I blame Sea World for keeping him so they could make money off him that was the bottom line the money they made from the shows.

The thin is Tilikum wasn't raised in captivity before it was outlawed they netted him and brought him into to captivity from the wild. I have read all the commment's on here now what i have to say is no one is to blame to what happened between the trainer and the whale it was not either party's fault on one side u have someone who loved animal's and the other side u had a wild animal which was captured against it's own will now pointing fingers at whose at fault is clearly not solving the problem what need's to be done is to release the poor unfortunate animal. Now in doing so causes another problem. If sea world was to release the animal it's basically sentencing that poor animal to it's death as it no longer would have it's natural instincts to look after itself so it's a nasty catch 22 situation now if sea world would accept the responsibility of this animals innocent life then it should create an environment which would be as close to it's natural home that is the only way i see a solution to this problem,as to the religion fanatics i can never comprehend what makes them state such ridiculous notions if they so believe in god then is it not up to god to punish? How about just letting the whale back into its natural habitat - the habitat it should never have been removed from (although it might be a little now, who knows if the whale would know how to feed itself). If people want to see whales up close why not go on a whale watching expedition or read a book and look at pictures.
