They Cut Kathy's Kiss!

Just thinking of kissing Kathy made me not only throw up today's breakfast, but yesterday's too!

I didn't particularly want to see Kathy and Mariska's characters kissing, but I was a bit surprised when they didn't show it last night. I can't imagine why they felt the need to cut it. It wasn't graphic at all. They've got to know there will be backlash considering the kiss was already out there in cyberspace. I'm sure they'll come up with some half-assed reason for doing so.

No matter how GLBT supportive Kathy is, she is clearly NOT a lesbian. Get lesbians to play lesbians and gays to play gays!

I think Law And Order is just beyond ridiculous. Once, when I was flipping through channels, I saw they had found a man's body with a banana up his ass: that's the only other time I ever tried to watch an entire episode of this silliest of shows - but I watched last night because of Kathy Griffin! Babs Duffy was a hoot, and I loved every minute she was on the air, though some hot lesbian action with Mariska Hargitay would have made it even better.

I love love LOVE Kathy Griffin, and I think and hope they kind of left the door open for her to come back… maybe LesBeStrong will be involved in another case… oh, and Mariska Hargitay's character is beginning to question her sexuality, and I believe she needs the guidance of Babs Duffy. NBC's does not have a very good recent track record of good programming choices, but they couldn't go wrong if they gave us more Babs Duffy!

What do I think? I think you're a whiny little bitch. "HIGHLY homophobic". Please. They could have just as easily cut out a kiss between a man and a woman, and nobody would have said anything. There is definitely a reason it was cut, like they changed plot lines, etc. Law and Order: SVU shows people getting raped… you think they are going to care about some girl-on-girl kissing? That would probably BOOST their ratings, actually. And besides, the fact that they filmed the kiss to begin with shows that they aren't homophobic.

the entire scene is homophobic. i think it sucks to see them cut the scene, however maybe they did because it pigeon-holes lesbians by inferring they're all gun-toting, butch, male wannabees. And then she says "you might wanna stay outside"?? Wow. Glad they cut it. Some loser writer wrote that scene.

I thought it was ridiculous also and I'm straight and married. They could show Kathy kissing Meloni full on, but cut Mariska's, the show has shown way more risque scenes than that. I am an ABSOLUTE FAN of all the show, but with all the hype, the episode wasn't even that good.

I just realized what the episode was really missing: Babs Duffy needs a chance to show off her hot bikini body. Seeing Babs in a bikini will make Mariska Haritay's character realize she needs to explore all the Lesbian Feelings that kissing Babs awakened in her.

If Kathy Griffin kissed me I'd pay a lot of money not to let anyone know about it. She's gross.

Calling the decision to remove the scene homophobic is just ridiculous! The scene worked better as shown. Perez, you need to get over yourself and stop whining everytime you don't agree with something. Not everyone feels the way you do and its people like you that give the 1st amendment a bad name. Just because you have the right to free speech doesn't mean you have to force your opinions on everyone.

Regardless of who you are or what your views are….they cut the kiss between kathy and mariska but showed her kissing stabler at the end. If that is not blaitant homophobia I dont know what is?

That Babs character was pretty creepy though and I really enjoyed this episode.

I understand why you're upset that the kiss was cut (and I think NBC was wrong to cut it), but I think that calling it HIGHLY homophobic is a bit much.
You're right. They should have left it in just as they left Babs and Elliot's kiss in, but I really don't think that it's fair to call a show that regularly addresses the LGBT community (in a positive manner) and frequently has episodes solely based around that (such as last night's), homophobic.

I could have sworn I saw Griffin kiss Hartigay on there, it was just a brief lip meeting and then Hartigay was like "whoah, I'm straight!"

Maybe it didn't really further the storyline, and they figured it would just waste time to include it. Besides all it was was a little peck, it's not like there was any tongue action or anything, ffs.

i thought it was one of the most hilarious episodes of svu i have ever seen. they had almost every lesbian sterotype in it. they even had the theory of not meeting the right man. it was like a comedy. i think svu should be written like this from now on. it has gotten so awful the last 3-4 seasons. last nights episode was like southpark , totally not pc.

I don't think it was pure homophobia, i'm a fan of the show and honestly i don't imagine benson kissing another woman, she wanted kids and dated before, she wanted a guy in her life, i just don't think homosexuality is a choice
