This is possibly the most bizarre re-casting we've EVER heard of.
Selena Gomez has reportedly replaced none other than Nicole Kidman in the film Monte Carlo after producers decided they wanted the story to be more youthful.
OUCH! Bwah ha ha.
You KNOW Nicole probably got the news and then proceeded to rip her hair out, shatter every mirror in her house, and break out her emergency case of botox hidden in Keith Urban's guitar!!
Nothing calms the nerves like making yourself look like a marble effing statue timeless.

The movie is based on the book Headhunters by Jules Bass, and chronicles four New Jersey women posing as heiresses in Monaco.
Gomez will now star with Blair Waldorf in the revamped version, which will instead revolve around a group of high school and college girls in Paris, France.
Frankly, we don't know which is harder to believe - school girls or ANYONE from Jersey being able to pass as heiresses!
We think they should have just taken the best aspects of both scenarios - youth and Jersey - and picked up Snooki Snickers, Jwoww, Sammi Sweetheart as the film's leads.
Maybe then it will be watchable!!

Sad for Nicole sounds like the story line could be produced two different ways, but it probably would be taken more seriously with older actresses, but whatev another teeny bopper film is on the way for your viewing pleasure.
Wow the producers of this movie are really downgrading this movie from an A list movie to B.

LOL at the Jersey comment. New Jersey contains many of the wealthiest counties in the entire country and in fact contains the most expensive zip code in the US. There are communities in Jersey where the median home price is $4.5 million. I lived in North Jersey for a big chunk of my life and most of the people I grew up with are quite wealthy… so the plot isn't too farfetched at all.

Being from NJ I found this offensive because, yeah, of course there are trashy people here, just like everywhere else, but some of us, especially in Southern NJ, are very well educated and have a lot more class than we are given credit for. It's a horrible stereotype and I was disappointed that you gave into it.

Of course you'd rather have the Jersey Shore cast in it because you'd hate to watch a film with actual talent in it!! And Nicole is not out of work, she's being replaced by a 17 year old so its not like she's being replaced by someone in their 20s. I'd much rather watch Selena in this film though, its time for her to star in a big girl role!! I'm 13, almost 14, and I'd never want to start out on Disney. You get stuck with a good girl image, I think Emma Roberts started out well with her role in Blow even though she played a child in the movie and ended up doing Nickelodeon, she still can say she has an edgy movie under her belt and is now doing bigger films.
Thats one film ticket I won't be buying.
