    The Catholic school won't allow the child to reenroll because his parents are gay, and they say that this is because parents are expected to follow Catholic doctrine. I'm curious, does that mean that they have no single or divorced parents of children in that school? Of course not, this is just an excuse for them to revel in being bigots.

    So a child with two adult parents in a stable home cannot go to catholic school. However, you are allowed to get a choir boy to bring you a boy to have sex wtih while you are in the vatican. It's ok though because you are married, and its a secret from your wife. These people are hypocritical idiots.

    If your parents are gay, you can't go to the school because it goes against what the school believes to be in accordance with Catholic teaching. By that logic, no child of divorced parents should be allowed to attend either, nor children of those whose parents consume alcohol, those whose parents don't attend church regularly, those whose eat meat on Fridays during Lent…I can't imagine there would be much of a student body if they didn't pick and choose which "sins" (not that homosexuality is a sin) were acceptable and which weren't.

    What about all the other things going on in children's homes that are not in strict accordance with Catholic tenets? Are those kids ostracized from the community too?

    I was born and raised a Catholic. I went to a Catholic school. I have nothing to do with it now. There is way too much hypocrisy for me.

I am a lesbian and I was raised in a Catholic school- kind of a clash there. Sad that a religious school is excluding someone, doesn't sound very godly but isn't that the way it seems to go with so many religions. Closed minded assholes!

    i'm not sure of the name of the Catholic organization, but they've cut their services (or most of them) to DC residents because DC now allows gay marriages (civil unions, not sure of the exact term used by DC).

    It isn't Boulder that is doing it and it isn't the school (that school has been there forever). It is the Catholic Archdiocese that is telling them that they can't let the student attend. The school is not happy about it.

    Damn it. I just moved here TWO weeks ago from Ohio, and I'm already finding out that this area is NOT as progressive as I had previously been lead to believe. Plenty of hypocritical assholes everywhere I look.

    Interesting how the excuse for the bigotry is that they expect parents of enrolled children to follow Christian doctrine. Does that mean there are no single or divorced parents associated with that school? I'm willing to bet the answer is no. Hypocritical self righteous fucks.

    I am not catholic and would not send my child to a catholic school. But Perez will always get up in arms when religious people try to impose their beliefs on others. At the same time he expects for a homosexual couple to be able to have their child (Who will have different beliefs than the church) be able to attend. Seems kinda like a double standard….then again it is Perez what else would I expect

    You know what, I am a gay catholic male. I say it's the schools right to refuse service to anyone it wants to refuse service to. Separation of church and state. As a Catholic, I know what their rules are. I know what they do not like about who I am, so I choose not to be a practicing catholic. Not from fear, not from shame. I choose not to be a part of something that is so biggoted and hateful. So if they want to ban kids with gay parents, thats ok. Fuck them. Pull your money out of the church, and get those who support you to pull their money/contributions from the church. Fuck them. Go where you are wanted and respected as beings..

    I left my Catholic church after they denied me the right to stand up in the church to be God Mother to my godsons because I was divorced. They took my fucking $$ for daycare for my daughters, but wouldn't let me be Godmother?!?! They wanted me to get my marriage annulled…so my kids would then be bastards…Catholics are retarded!

    It's called freedom of association. The school is free to exclusively associate with children/families that meet their criteria. Why would they even want their child to go there in the first place? And how is the child "suffering" because of the denial? Duh? As a child, I would WANT to go to a less religious school.     OK - I'm on both sides of the fence. No child should be denied an education but if that is the Cath's belief, why would you want your child going there and being brainwashed that alternate lifestyles are wrong. I don't want that drilled into my childrens head. I want them to know that they are excepted no matter what choice they make. But I can't help wonder …….. WHAT IF ……. a child that is, lets say, 16ish that has attended that school since K5. They come out of the closet - can they no longer go to that school? Things that make you go hummmmm.

    Unfortunately private schools can get away with those things, especially parochial schools. It is DEFINITELY NOT OKAY. But, this is not a common practice for the school districts in the Denver metro area.

Go find a school that accepts gay and put your kid there. Send them to a public school. I'm pretty sure Denver has elected a democratic mayor(Hickenlooper), democrat state representative(DeGette), and helped elect a democratic governor(Ritter) and president along with countless state and local senators and representatives. Listen, I agree that it's horrible that a child gets kicked out of a school through no fault of their own, but let's not make this a political issue. The Catholic Church is antiquated and hypocritical and I'm surprised that this couple wanted to associate themselves with such a group.

If they did they would find out that alot of non-catholics send their kids to catholic school, because they feel like the values taught at such schools will enstill better values in their children.     First of all, getting divorced is okay in the Catholic church, as long as you don't remarry for whoever said that.
    Second, gay marriage is considered less forgivable than not eating meat on fridays during Lent.
    Third, why on earth was a lesbian couple sending their child to a Catholic school? People can do whatever with their own lives, but did they really think that other people would just accept it? Especially with a place so full of "hypocrites."

I would rather leave my children uneducated than enroll them in a catholic school, but if the school school had let the child enroll, they would be terribly hypocritical about the stupid junk they follow in the first place. I say GOOD for the gay couple for having the opportunity to enroll their child in a much better, more accepting school. This all worked out well.

    THAT'S exactly why my son goes to a catholic school. He will never be subjected to the HOMO agenda in this country, and the Catholic Schools do not HAVE to accept anyone. They are a PRIVATE instution, with their own rules, which makes them great. He gets a solid education, and the Catholic High School he will attend graduates 93% of their students, and of the 93%, 86% go to college. His school is also 89% WHITE. Which is WONDERFUL too!!
