Thursday at 10pm was not a good time for Oprah - or viewer's at home!

The big O aired her Oscar Special last night and no one was watching. According to the Nielson ratings, she fell behind CSI: NY (12.45 million viewers) and Law & Order: SVU (9.04 million). Oprah only had a measly 4.37 million watching her show!

Maybe she should have quit while she was ahead! Yikes!

    LOL

  2. 2

How can she call it "her" Oscar special? Wasn't the concept actors interviewing each other? It was odd to say the least and lately her interviews have sucked big time. It really is time for her to go.

  3. 3

I was watching Celeb Rehab w/ Dr. Drew. If that were on a major network, it would have been ALL the buzz this season…….xoxo
We wanna see celebs be REAL, not pre-packaged in a frakin' oprah spec!

  4. 4

I didn't even know it was on. Oscar specials are for Oscar night

  5. 5

I didn't even know it was happening, but I would not have watched anyway, as it was on at the same time as Project Runway/b>

  6. 6

maybe cuz no one cares about the oscars. they are boring!!!

  7. 7

It was on WEDNESDAY night, not Thursday. I watched some of it and full asleep the last half - interesting - but boring.

  8. 8

ummmmm its was on Wednesday night you idiot……

  9. 9

You're such a negative person Pipi Hilton. You're just jealous and the constant pushing of Ellen's show is really getting old!!! Ellen is not funny, she never was!!

  10. 10

i'm not even interested in watching the ocars, so i definitely wouldn't watch a special about it.

  11. 11

I didn't even know about it..

  12. 12

Do you REALLY think she cares? NOT!!

-I disagree…she does care a great deal…so do her advertisers.
TV shows live and die by their ratings and who is watching.

  14. 14

I didn't know it was on either, but I wouldn't have watched it anyways.

  15. 15

    Oprah is the worst.

  16. 16

Oprah lost credibility with a huge part of her fan base when she did a "soft" interview with Sarah Palin. By doing that, she showed us all she's only about the ratings and her bank account. The same goes for Barbara Walters.

  17. 17

    It was very booooooring

  18. 18

    OPRAH IS A BITCH……..

-Chinge, Sue M, you're really making me laugh this morning. Your arguement doesn't hold up and is based on personal feelings about Palin.
-Oprah's ratings have been in deep decline, way before the Palin interview, and her ratings for that particular show, were very high.
-Leno recently had on Palin, and the ratings went through the roof.

The world is eagerly waiting for this fat cow to be totally off television. She is irrelevant. After her FAILED Olympics debacle along with Messiah Dumbama she has no credibility.

  21. 21

Oprah should have done her special when her multitude of fans were watching in the daytime; houewives, unemployed people and welfare mamas. The rest of us who don't have time to sit on our assess all day long couldn't care less. You'd think she had that figured out by now.

  22. 22

oprah is for old ladies so her audience was in bed when this aired

  23. 23

-I was busy watching reruns of NCIS
    - I used to watch Oprah every day, a long time ago. The Oprah should have quit before she went political with the Obamas, the over kill of Katrina, promoting responsibility, but doing the opposite, promoting the of victim-of-the-day.
    - When you piss off half your audience, before your show even airs, you're just commiting professional suicide.
-Just like all the media - ABC,CBS,NBC, MSNBC, CNN, NPR - we turned off these Pravda propaganda machines many years ago.
    – TIP OF THE DAY - Our money is green and now it's too late for these businesses. They deserve their fate - EXTINCTION.

  24. 24

This is a gossip site and I'm sure when you see my politicized post, you turn off and just want some entertainment for the day…you move along to a less hostile message.
    -
That is what happens to all of us when you force your Libreral agenda on us…we tune out and not watch or read or buy anything you have to sell.

  25. 25

Might have helped to have it on when the Oscar's are on the same day!!!!

  26. 26

uhh, yeah, do you know that most people DVR their shows now so that we can watch it any time we want and fast forward through boring parts and commericials? Think about that wise guy!!! I may hate technology but i love that part!

  27. 27

-NEWSPAPERS - I used to look forward to reading the NY Times - the Sunday edition was the best part of the day.
-MAGAZINES -I used to love Vanity Fair when they wrote about Bernie Madoff type figures, instead of Bush and Cheney. It's been decades since I gave up on Newsweek and Time magazine.
-TV SHOWS - virtually every show weaves in political agendas making them unwatchable. My very last talk show I could watch, that I enjoyed was, Craig Ferguson, FUNNY MAN - with those puppets and wiggling around to Brittany Spears, "Oops, I did it Again". He became more political since Obama became president, and I now no longer tune in to him either…or David Letterman staff fucker or Leno.
-Johnny Carson was perfect — if he did a joke about a Republican figure, he'd follow it up with a joke about the Dems. There was no hint of a hit-piece, so half of his audience would tune out.

I watched it. It was boring. Jeremy Renner was the best part, but even that wasn't that interesting.

    29

You could say that it's because middle America is tired of watching the rich and famous act rich and famous, but it's more that CSI and Law and Order have their regulars who religiously tune in, imo.

  30. 30

    definitely was on wednesday night

  31. 31

What's more boring? A long boring Oscar special, or watching the Louge during the olympics?

  32. 32

maybe cuz no one cares about the oscars?

  33. 33

I was into the final episode of Nip/Tuck!

  34. 34

I love Oprah, but I have to say the "Special" sucked… really bad… looked very amateurish… and what was up with her intros??? She looked and sounded like she was horny… and trying to seduce the camera man… really strange

  35. 35

Ummm 4.37 million is more people than the entire population of my country. Cool…

  36. 36

the oscars suck. they're so high-strung and no good (teen/young) celebs are ever there. it's always like omg nicole kidman (LIKE WHO GIVES A FUCK). i'd rather see younger people there.

  37. 37

I think I was on the PC that night. I forgot it was even on.

  38. 38

She's a fat, average-looking, middle-aged, loud broad, with no particular brains or talent. I've only watched her show a few times in my entire life, and my only thought while doing so was about what a HUGE lack of social skills that she has! And she bends over backwards to brown-nose, kiss ass, and be ultra "politically correct" in order to keep her ratings up, which appalls me! So I feel that nobody really knows the true Oprah, not that she would be particularly interesting. And when her show goes off the air, I won't miss it, and I won't even notice that it's gone! Good riddance, and make room for someone better and more talented!

  39. 39

Not interested so much in Oscars but most definitely not interested in Oprah. She is over - yesterday's talk show matron. Her intro to the Oscar show was completely overblown & she "sold" it like no one on the face of the earth ever had such an enormous idea. She's done & it'll be good to see her gone. I hope she gets some obscure radio program so we never have to see her self righteous face on TV again. She's a complete bore to anyone with a brain.
