The Original Alice In Wonderland Film

It's over 100 years old!

Check out the original Alice in Wonderland recently restored by the British Film Institute National Archive.

Pretty amazing for 1903 — only 8 years after movies were invented!

  20. 20

Re: MattieD – how long do you think it will take for me to wash your chin off my balls?

  21. 21

Re: MattieD – Are you retarded? And I dont mean to insult retarded people. Film was made in 1903!! Its no fuckin' Avatar but pretty damn amazing!

  22. 22

it's not that impressive…they've done far better movies with better graphics on and before 1903. Watch "A Trip to the Moon" (1902)

  23. 23

that's so stupid i wanna read a book

  24. 24

STFU let MattieD have an opinion. I also agree SHITTY! HORRIBLE FUCKING ACTING HOLY SHIT.

  26. 26

  27. 27

    cool

  28. 28

Wasn't the writer of Alice in Wonderland a gross sick pedophile?
I would never go watch the movie, I heard it's a flop anyway. But it's sick that people tell this story to children and meanwhile the sick pervert took nude pictures of a little girl and was in love with her. Ew

    * 3 days ago

    Additional Details
@Ducky YES!! Eww a pervert who was in love with a little girl, Alice. He even ripped out pages from his diary which no one found and was thought to contain details of him doing something with Alice. He took Alice on a trip. The family never spoke to him again. Which to me tells me the pervert molested/raped her. And now after all these years people are using his sick fantasy as a children's story and a movie. Shame on Johnny Depp!

@karenL Wow you must be on the same drugs he was on… you said he was an "honorable man"? Wow you are as sick as that pervert is. No "man" who molests children and has them as an object of perverted infatuation is an "honorable" anything.

  29. 29

    uber nostalgic-ly cool…

  30. 30

You know homos support pedophilia, especially this fat talentless cum dumpster child molester. Aint that right perez polanski?

  31. 31

so beautiful, wish i lived in that era.

  32. 32

finally i luv sth that u posted

  33. 33

How amazing, and they even had special effects … can you imagine how had that would be to produce with no computers … really good.

  34. 34

Wow the costumes and the special effects are amazing. Nice!

  35. 35

  36. 36

  37. 37

Who wants to dirty talk on the phone?? Get at me on the cell
four one zero seven zero three one zero two one

  38. 38

Perez I can't believe that your not upset that they remade this film. I know that remakes upset you.

  39. 39

    1903? amazing!!!

  40. 40

I agree with the positive comments.

  41. 41

    Re: dickface

Dickface, you don't hear it's a "flop." You can hear it's good or you can hear it's bad, but it can't become a "flop" until after it opens.

  42. 42

Re: dickface – You are correct the writter of Alice in Wonderland was the inventor of child porn. That really makes me want to go see the movie right? NOT! People just need to do their research prior to seeing a movie. Not all movies are JUST FOR FUN! This movie was originally about a man that had a terrible obsession with a young girl. DON'T think I will be seeing it!

  43. 43

WOW! It's incredible how far we have come…

  44. 44

You stole this link from Roger Ebert. At least give him the credit!

  45. 45

Wow, I'm amazed by it! Really enjoyable to watch!

  46. 46

    love the effects! magic!

  47. 47

Re: MattieD – thats what the tranny hooker from chinatown said when you finished up giving IT head. even at being a dirty whore, you are shitty. sad.

  48. 48

Re: MattieD – Oh my goodness gracious you are a mean mean man who obviously doesn't understand beautiful things when he sees it. And you are very ugly too :( Such a shame to be ugly on the outside and the inside!
    love,
    OrchidGirl.

  49. 49

    Two Words: AWE*SOME

  50. 50

You know what's really funny are all you people up in arms about the story being about someone who was into little kids but here you are being all outraged on Perez Hilton's blog and he's like the freaking KING of PEDOPHILES. That's funny.

  51. 51

    really really cool!

  52. 52

    Thanks BFI !!!

  53. 53

IMPRESSED! EVEN BACK THEN THEY LIP SYNC BETTER THAN BRITNEY SPEARS!!!! MARIO AND PEREZ = DUMB AND DUMBER.

  54. 54

Thanks for posting this! Very interesting.

  55. 55

Re: dickface – Yes. He was also on hallucinogens when he wrote Alice and Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. I challenge anyone to read the original literature. It is really far out there.

    56

    So cool :)

  57. 57

That was great, Thanx Perez, I would've never seen that if u didnt post it!!

  58. 58

    so fun

  59. 59

Re: dickface – i thought the same thing - that the story was based on him taking advantage of a child.
    -
there are a few children's things that are based on sick stuff. like "ring around the rosie" is actually a song about the plague.

  60. 60

I love turn of the 20th century and early 20th century movies. I saw Birth of a Nation about 30 times. I never knew this one existed. It seems that sushi is the only thing that needs to be fresh to be good. This old stuff rocks!

  61. 61

The new remake will flop big time

  62. 62

Gotta admit, this shit is pretty cool. Would've been fucking amazing in 1903.

  63. 63

Very cool - thanks for sharing Perez!

  64. 64

ABOUT TIME YOU POSTED SOMETHING WORTH A LOOK.

    66

    This is creepy.

  67. 67

PEOPLE CAN DONATE MONEY TO THE BFI AND UCLA TO RESTORE FILMS….

  68. 68

Very cool. And frightening to me for some reason.

  69. 69

thats kinda creepy, but kinda cool I guess.

  70. 70

YES, ALICE IN WONDERLAND WAS ABOUT A PEDOPHILE WHO WAS SO OBSESSED WITH THIS LITTLE GIRL THAT HE CREATED A FANTASY WORLD WITH HER IN IT. SAD, BUT TRUE. I REMEMBER MY LIBRARY TEACHER TELLING OUR WHOLE CLASS ABOUT IT. EVERYONE WAS FASCINATED, BUT PRETTY DISGUSTED TOO.

  71. 71

Lewis Carroll was not on hallucinogens when he wrote either story. Though weird and really fucking out there, it states nowhere- factually- that he was on hallucinogenic drugs. However, the man was a pedophile indeed. Gross and wrong as it may be, his literature, and this film are pretty amazing.

  72. 72

    I loved this!!!

  73. 73

    Re: dickface

    Shut the fuck up, cun*t.

  74. 74

Looks like I should have ate some kind of mushroom before I started watching that.

  75. 75

That shit is a snooze festtttttt Ugh!

  76. 76

This was pretty cool to watch. Yes the Author had some issuse. He was very shy, but could talk to children easily. Yes he took pics of kids with their clothes on and off (always with parents permission). He was in love with the original Alice, who was a child. He wanted to marry her when she was 11. It was legal to marry a 12 year old at that time. They did not marry though. He had a mysterious falling out with the parents. Some say he molested her (Alice), but no one knows for sure. He never got into touble for it because it was a differnt time and his actions weren't as grusome (I'm only guessing). He continued to have young friends after Alice. Correct me if I'm wrong, That was waaaaay back in the day when I would just go to the library and research EVERYTHING.

  77. 77

    tres cool! and kinda creepy!

  78. 78

Ha! But researching things before we open our mouths just isnt want people do! We'd rather put our feet in our mouths and speak out our asses.

  79. 79

    loved this! so cool.
I love old movies, A Trip to the Moon is one of my faves!

  80. 80

To all who think Carroll (Dodgson) was a pedophile, you have no proof to back it up. It is pure speculation. He was more like Michael Jackson, a shy man who related to children better than adults. As for the nude child photos, this was a common practice of the day. I agree that it seems sick, but we're looking back 150 years with 21st century eyes.

  81. 81

Well that was weird. But that's really cool

  82. 82

Wow! That's so cool. It would've been fun to grow up around 1903.

  83. 83

    How delightful!

  84. 84

wow. what a treat. I love the history of cinema.

  85. 85

    creepy…

  86. 86

why do people have to keep digging around for gossip or dirt? can't you just see a classic children's story as a classic children's story? what's the preoccupation with having to discredit people and accuse them of terrible things. none of us knew the author and what we have been told may well be urban legend.
also, whoever said that all homosexuals support paedophilia should be put in a catapult and shot into outer space for reason of insanity. it makes me sick how ridiculously stupid and ignorant some people are.

  87. 87

    Wow, that was so cool.

  88. 88

…so when is this coming out in 3D?

  89. 89

so coooll! although bit tiring to watch

  90. 90

this film is amazing! There's an article saying that Tim Burton banned it from playing in front of his film in England. Seems like he realized that a film thats over 100 yrs old is better than his!!! What an idiot.

  91. 91

    cute!! lol

  92. 92

better than Tim Burton's version lol

  93. 93

this is creepy is like watching the tape of the ring or something, but cat is cute, and alice is old and a bit ugly she kinda looks like a witch or smething

  94. 94

i wonder how they managed to do the special effects?????¿¿¿¿?????

  95. 95

I can understand why it's technically primitive, but I wonder why the storytelling aspect of the film is so inept? Or are these just the surviving scenes from the film, and the rest of it has been destroyed or lost?
    -
It's amazing to look at simply because it's so old . . . and you wonder who these people were, and when they died, and could they ever conceive of anything like millions of people watching it on the Perez Hilton website on their laptops in the year 2010. It's pretty wild.
    -
But it is weird in that it doesn't seem to have any idea how to tell a story.

  96. 96

Oh Perez…you're full of surprises! Very cool. I never would have thunk I'd find this here.

  97. 97

shitty - I'll never get those 10 minutes of my life back. That was the worst thing ever. made no sense. am so glad movies are what they have become.

  98. 98

That was cool, I liked it
