Check out the original Alice in Wonderland recently restored by the British Film Institute National Archive.

Pretty amazing for 1903 — only 8 years after movies were invented!

    @Ducky YES!! Eww a pervert who was in love with a little girl, Alice. He even ripped out pages from his diary which no one found and was thought to contain details of him doing something with Alice. He took Alice on a trip. The family never spoke to him again. Which to me tells me the pervert molested/raped her. And now after all these years people are using his sick fantasy as a children's story and a movie. Shame on Johnny Depp!

    I love turn of the 20th century and early 20th century movies. I saw Birth of a Nation about 30 times. I never knew this one existed. It seems that sushi is the only thing that needs to be fresh to be good. This old stuff rocks!

    Lewis Carroll was not on hallucinogens when he wrote either story. Though weird and really fucking out there, it states nowhere- factually- that he was on hallucinogenic drugs. However, the man was a pedophile indeed. Gross and wrong as it may be, his literature, and this film are pretty amazing.

    This was pretty cool to watch. Yes the Author had some issuse. He was very shy, but could talk to children easily. Yes he took pics of kids with their clothes on and off (always with parents permission). He was in love with the original Alice, who was a child. He wanted to marry her when she was 11. It was legal to marry a 12 year old at that time. They did not marry though. He had a mysterious falling out with the parents. Some say he molested her (Alice), but no one knows for sure. He never got into touble for it because it was a differnt time and his actions weren't as grusome (I'm only guessing). He continued to have young friends after Alice. Correct me if I'm wrong, That was waaaaay back in the day when I would just go to the library and research EVERYTHING.

    It's amazing to look at simply because it's so old . . . and you wonder who these people were, and when they died, and could they ever conceive of anything like millions of people watching it on the Perez Hilton website on their laptops in the year 2010. It's pretty wild.
