      I'm from Slovenia, and I can't believe how much this Balkan Turbo Folk music has spread over here… even people who weren't born in the Balkan (Slovenia IS NOT a Balkan country, we're already central Europe) listen to this music in the clubs! I'm 24 now and I remember that we definitely didn't listen to Balkan Turbo Folk when we were in high school.

      It is time to be honest with ourselves. If anyone has gone to both of their concerts, Seka’s and JK’s, after you leave the concert it is clear who is a true singer and who is not. I am actually not a big fan of either one of them but I was convinced by friends to attend those concerts since in the USA there are not really many places for us to get in touch with Balkan music. JK’s live singing is excruciatingly bad, it’s almost like screeching. There is a reason why she sings only play back, and the reason is because she can’t sing. Her body, look and one of the best Serbian songwriters (Marina Tucakovic) is what is making her be JK. Seka on the other hand sings live and she sings well with a lot of passion and there is not a single concert where she did play back. There is a difference with shows because on Serbian shows, everyone does playback but concert should truly be your voice and live singing. So, if you YouTube live concerts from both of them, it is clear who is a better singer and performer. Like I said earlier, I’m not a big fan of either one of them, but it is a no brainer.
