R.I.P.
Singer-songwriter Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse committed suicide on Saturday.
Linkous, who was in his 40's, released as well as produced a number of highly-acclaimed albums over his career, including Sparklehorse's 2001 album It’s A Wonderful Life.
Most recently Linkous had collaborated with Danger Mouse and director David Lynch on a "multimedia project" called Dark Night of the Soul.
Mark's family released a statement on Saturday, reading:
It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear friend and family member, Mark Linkous, took his own life today. We are thankful for his time with us and will hold him forever in our hearts. May his journey be peaceful, happy and free. There’s a heaven and there’s a star for you.
He will truly be missed.

that's so sad. may his family and friends find strength to deal with this. i've no judgemental thoughts about people that take their own life. it's a choice though a sad choice. people can make their own choices. but what is it that i read and hear in the news about so many suicides these days? or people that passed away on prescripted drugs? almost the same thing to me. there are a too many lonely people out there……so sad.

unfortunatley, when you take your own life, you forfit eternal life.
i knew mark and can say that he was a very sweet spirit. he was a beautiful person as well as an amazing songwriter. i hope he is in a peaceful place now.
