Cut To Commercial - What Went On Behind The Scenes Of The Oscars
Hollywood's Kodak Theatre was swarming with celebs last night for the Oscars and while the telecast went well over the 3 hour mark, there is still a lot the folks at home didn't get to see.
For instance, Matt Damon and his Luciana were seen rubbing elbows with his competition at the bar. Matt shared a glass of champagne with Stanley Tucci to toast their loss to Christoph Waltz. A little bubbly to ease the pain!
Across the way, in the lobby, Jake Gyllenhall was seen having a lengthy conversation with Rachel McAdams. He finally took a moment to introduce her to a friend of his, announcing, "This is Rachel McAdams, she's the mother of my child!" (Cue no-one laughing at this zinger!)
Backstage, Twilighters Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were spotted giggling like school girls over the excitement of present the tribute to horror flicks, (which Twilight is certainly not) and deejay Joel Madden enjoyed his spot in a private box adjacent to the stage, where he got to watch the show and spun tunes like future father-in-law Lionel Richie's Easy Like Sunday Morning during commercial breaks.
Yeah, it's just about as exciting as the actual show was. Oh, BTW, we're fairly certain the show wouldn't have gone into overtime had there not been an interpretive dance portion of the show, brought to you by The Gap. Just saying.

Ugh. Perez, stop being jealous. The dance portion of the show was magical. I loved it, it moved me and brought me to tears a number of times. You'd have to really appreciate TRUE talent to understand it however. You only appreciate things that are synthisized and photoshopped. No worries, we understand you are shallow.

LXD was fantastic. I could have survived without the 20 minutes long snoozefest called the monologue with Steve and Alec. Twilight it totes a horror movie, just look at that 'acting'! Totes horrifying! And just look at PRat's face! I'm gonna have nightmares!

I thought that it was the longest and most boring oscars ever.
I also think that it is completely horrible that the only live performance was that really long and boring dance part. By the way, those are not the best dancers in the world, they are the dancers that So You Think You Can Dance and the X Factor think are the best. I think its absolutely horrible that they used the oscars to plug in people that had absolutely no place their.

Dear Perez, you obviously embrace the world of fame, but I'm wondering what did you think of the fact that they had long presentations for each actor, including an intro based on glamourizing the actors, while they stopped the mic for anyone who had things important to say (like: "save the dolphins'), and also didn't give equal presentation to the directors, without whom the cinema stars are worthless.

The dance segment was the best - too bad the cameras kept moving around like it was directed by a high school media class. That opening number with the TV guy with three names dressed in Garland's 'Get Happy' costume was just painful. Thankfully, TCM was showing legitimate crap, 'The Oscar', simultaneously, so the chips and dip didn't go to waste.

The Dance was a waste of time, Friends and I were mocking the time years ago when Debbie Allen coreographed a whole bunch of interpretive dances for each Oscar song and we were talking about how glad we were they weren't doing it this year……and then the dances started. UGH!

This is actually the first Oscars in a long time Ia ctually enjoyed. The combination of Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin was a stroke of genius. I laughed a lot last night. Intro by actor of nominated actors was a nice touch. I think Taylor Lautner is a very talented young man. he will go far.

I have disliked the last few Oscars for many reasons, but this show was very good from top to bottom. I actually agree that the dance section wasnt needed, but that being said it was well choreographed! And am I the only one who noticed Kristen looked much better than usual? She was gorgeous (minus the random cough) of course Perez doesn't give her any credit when she does look good!

LXD was amazing, and for the most part so was the entire show. It's nice to sometimes honour stars for their work and not just digg at their personal life.

I was so angry when Twilight was included in the horror montage. It is in no way, shape, or form, horror. I personally think that it's an insult to the fantasy genre to include it in there either, but that's just me.
But it's nice to see Kristen actually properly dressed for something! Now just to get her to stand up straight and not sound like a scared little school girl when she talks.
But I thought the dance was wonderful, so I'd have to disagree with you on that one.
KStew's dress was very pretty, or would have been had a female worn it!

I was pleasantly surprised when she walked down the stairs with Taylor to present, because she actually dressed the part and didn't look completely out of place! I wondered if she was finally going to drop the "I'm awkward" crap and behave the way she should, considering the audience she was in front of….and I couldn't believe my eyes when she started to speak! She didn't stutter and kept her eyes on the camera……..then HACK!! Ugh!! She just HAD to ruin it! It didn't sound like she needed to clear her throat, but even if she felt a tickle, there are ways to deal with that gracefully -cover your mouth and say excuse me after!!

She said Best PITCHER - Ewww an called Ms Streidand BARBER. The whole production team should all be fired for such an unprofessional show.

yer tilight is not a scary movie..my sister who is 8 saw the clip of new moon and when aro did his scene she was like "oh did he just chop his head of?" lol then when the wolves cam and bared there teeth i thought she'd be scard erm no, infact she squeeled and went "rrrrrrrr they are so cuteeeeeeeee, i want one!" lol and she looked very pretty at the awards loved the dress!
