Mo'Nique Vs. Barbara Walters: Oscar Edition
After Mo'Nique's 2006 appearance on The View, Barbara Walters was pretty rude! So, you can imagine how miserable Mo'Nique made Babs when she wanted to interview the actress for her Oscar special.
"Barbara is telling friends that Mo'Nique was one of her most challenging subjects ever," claims a source. "If Barbara needed one more reason to quit the Oscar specials, Mo'Nique gave it to her."
During Mo's stint on The View, Barbara was asking about the actress' new born twins and referred to them as creatures. She ultimately took back her statement and called the babies adorable, but not before telling Mo'Nique, "Remember, you come and go. We stay."
Mo never forget about that comment, but said she would do the interview as long as her demands were met.
"She had very specific hair and makeup demands," claims another source. "She also insisted that Barbara fly down to Atlanta. Barbara usually goes to her subject's home, whether it's Tom Cruise or Julia Roberts. Mo'Nique wouldn't let Barbara into her house."
Wowsa!
"She was so disrespectful and dismissive that Barbara's producer, Bill Geddie, had to step in and ask Mo'Nique's husband, Sid [Hicks], why Mo was being so rude," he continued. "Bill has told people you won't be seeing Mo on 'The View' again soon."
But Babs is denying that there was any tension during the interview.
She said:
"There was nothing about her that was rude. It's a wonderful, funny interview. She couldn't have been more open. If you're not happy, you don't answer those questions. I can't remember when we did an interview in someone's house."
"We were joking that day, and Mo'Nique knows it. She laughed and I laughed. I don't understand why some people want to make trouble."
Either way, Babs better learn to be more civil to ALL of her guests. No one wants to pick a fight with Oscar!

What Barbara Walters finds funny is completely different than what the rest of the world finds funny including Mo'nique!

Barbara Walters is a no talant, who, if she was a man wouldn't even be on air anymore. She never asks more than basic questions, she isn't inciteful and beyond knowing who to threaten with a sexism lawsuit she doesn't have much skill at her job. She should have been replaced by a more talanted woman ages ago. The View is an appropriate place for her.

Barbara Walters thinks waaaayyyy too highly of herself. I don't know much about Mo'nique but her Oscar speech was so honest and heartfelt. Loved it.
I actually believe this story and, if so, way to go Monique for not forgetting someone who wasn't kind to you know you were "nothing."
Barbara's mother should have taught her that you should treat everyone with respect. The last shall be first and the first shall become last.

She asked her the same question on The View. Why doesn't BaBAWaWa shave off her old hag beard and mustache? Bleaching doesn't hide the white fuzz under bright lights.

The only time I enjoy The View is when Barbara Walters is not there! The show is so much more relaxed and funny when that annoying old bitch is absent! And when she is there, Joy Behar's head is so far up Walter's ass that BaBa WaWa appears a bit heavier.

Only a ghetto-ass would misunderstand the way "creatures" was used in this conetxt. "Such a beautiful creature" or " a Heavenly creature" or "precious creatures" are upper-class terminology for something that is extraordinary–in a GOOD WAY. MoNique, always on the defense…chose to take it the wrong way. It is ludicrous to think Walters would say something as outragous as "calling" someone's kid a "creature." Very stupid.
