Peter Andre Used To Suffer From 20 Panic Attacks A Day!!

We bet if we were once married to the trainwreck that is Jordan, we'd be having massive panic attacks, as well!!

Peter Andre has recently opened up about his battle with anxiety which, at its worst, would result in 20 panic attacks a day! He finally had to seek treatment at a psychiatric hospital in his 20s, but now successfully manages the condition with medication.

Andre says:

'You go through all that anxiety and you think it's the end of your life - but it's not. I woke up at 3am and I felt a hammering in my head. I started panicking and hyperventilating, my hands were sweating and I thought my heart was going to pop out of my body. You think you're having a heart attack. No matter how many times you've had it, every time you think, this is it, I'm going to die. There were times when it was so bad that I thought, am I better off? But you have to look at what's around you. My family were my entire life and I though, how are they going to live the rest of their lives? That's what stopped me. I won't go back because I've got children: they need me and I will always be there for them. I will never go back.'

If this is sincere and not just a way of getting press, then we really have to hand it to him!!

Panic attacks ARE terrifying, and we're happy he sought out treatment!

Being overwhelmed by your own anxiety is a horrible way to live your life!!

Panic attacks ARE terrifying.. So many people think they are a joke and just an excuse..

But trust me, they are very real and very scary. It is a mental problem that manifests itself physically.

I'm proud of him for coming out and admitting what he went through. Good for him for seeking help.

My Perezcious once had a panic attack when he discovered that the sister had used his favorite butt plug as a sink stopper.

I suffer from stress and panic attacks almost every day. and i've had to deal with people who think its not a big deal and that i should toughen up. Its not fun to live your life that way, you're life expectancy will be shorter.

its so obvious that Katie refused to meet you or something because 2 weeks ago you were licking her ass and slagging pete off…
you are such a loser! i seriously throw up when i think of you mario…

I actually think this guy is 100% genuine and I am glad Perez that you are actually not taking the side of the woman as you normally do when couples split up or have problems.
I think he was too good for Jordan, mind Micheal Lohan is too good for Jordan!

i can't help but notice how you feel sorry for peter but you tend to be harsher on the female celebrities that seek out treatment for the same disorder… hmm hate females some?

Last time Pete talked about his panic attacks you bashed him and told him to "suck it up". You can't even remember your own opinions anymore? Or did you just change because of all the pepole who have had panic attacks bashed you in the comments that time?
I think you should stay out of commenting people's mental problems unless you've suffered from them yourself.

No seriously, panic attacks SUCK. And good on him for speaking out about what he's gone through. Hopefully this will help de-stigmatize it, and encourage others to seek help if they need it.

it is one of the worst feelings.

  15. 15

I to have suffered for 18 years with panic and anxiety attacks. They really suck and good for him for being able to get through it. I hope some day I find the answer so maybe I can to get on with my life.

  16. 16

I have had panic attacks pretty much all my life, I remember the first one was when I was about 7… they didn't stop up until I was 21 and by then I realized the only way it to go on medication. 10 years later, I'm still on the meds, but I haven't had a panic attack ever since.

  17. 17

he can cry me a river I have had Panic attacks for weeks and Rapid Cycling Mania take some meds and chill out I feel bad for you but it could be worse cause this crap sucks

  18. 18

So now you feel for the guy?? Last time you mentioned his panic attacks, you were a total douche about it! Don't remember? Go look at your archives.
Get your fucking opinions straight….do you actually have any that aren't affected by what your readers may think about you? You contradict yourself so fucking often, maybe YOU need a mental health check-up!

Re: SF90 – You're absolutely right! I noticed the same thing…Perez is a confused little boy.

I am 23, and I go trough these panic attacks myself, where I get scared and panic if I'm alone in the house and stuff like that, and it's really horrible. And it's true, people don't believe you, they tell you to toughen up, and they have no idea what people with this problem have to go trough. I used to take medication for it when I was younger, but the pills I was taking where also making me a bit too sleepy and veggie-like in a way, so I stopped. Now that they've come back, I will seek another doctor, and get some medical attention. I read most of you're comments, and I guess you guys kind of opened my eyes a bit, that I can't ignore this problem any longer. So thanks for that. It's really hard to find someone to talk to about this. I for one haven't found anyone who completely understands me, and doesn't think I'm crazy.

It's no wonder in today's crazy society that people are stressed and freak out! I have physical anxiety (under control now); this helps me understand that for people who suffer from panic attacks or drug addiction, it literally comes down to choosing life or death, and acting accordingly.
Get to the root of the issue and medicate yourself wisely.
People who take pills to ease stress (likewise alcoholics) don't get straight in their heads- they're not fixing the problem, just numbing their minds to the truth. You all could easily name 10 people who have died from over-dosing on pills, and this is tragic. Adrianne Curry is totally right to observe that Corey Haim went on a downward spiral because he couldn't get his mind straight- you can thank pills for that.
What helps me to overcome my anxiety is smoking marijuana: it slows your brain down so you can understand why you're stressed, and secondly it helps you to deal with reality and therefore finding solutions! It immediately gets rid of your nausea and there are virtually no harmful side effects- especially in comparison to liver cancer (ty alcohol abuse), loss of a personality (ty anti-stress pills), and untimely death (ty pills again).
In today's f*cked up world everyone needs a drug to help them cope. Do your research and choose yours wisely!

Re: mmmbmc – Ask around about biofeedback.

Re: ocreamsicle – I've researched this well. It is actually a Physical problem that manifests itself emotionally & mentally. The root cause of most Anxiety disorders is Pyroluria which is not genetic but an infection. Pls Google "Pyroluria Infection."

  24. 24

Re: tallchick – Most Anxiety including Panic, Phobias, & Alcoholism is caused by a common multi-resistant infection. Pls Google "Pyroluria infection." Pyroluria is definitely not Genetic. B6 helps in about One Hour.
