Quentin Tarantino Sued!

| Filed under: Film FlickersLegal MattersQuentin Tarantino

We're not inclined to believe this guy!

A man named Dannez Hunter is suing Quentin Tarantino for allegedly stealing his idea for Kill Bill.

Hannez claims that back in 1999 he submitted a treatment to Miramax about a character named Ren who witnesses her mother's murder, specifically the knife through her abdomen, etc.

He also claims that he applied for a job at Miramax but "was never given a return phone call, as numerous similar situated less qualified Jewish and White people were bestowed job after job after job."

He wants over a million dollars, saying he was denied royalties in the Kill Bill series.

Wasn't Kill Bill based on ideas from a Japanese film? Good luck with this lawsuit, pal!

Saw this somewhere else yesterday, Parasite. You have a gift for posting old shit, crap, and stuff that's just plain wrong. This one falls into the first category.

Complete bullshit. Kill Bill pays homage to numerous kung-fu flicks that Quentin Tarantino grew up watching. He has even mentioned which ones on numerous occasions, honesty and open about who he is inspired by.

Lady Snowblood-A lot of the plot, Lucy Liu's character
The Street Fighter with Sunny Chiba

Almost the entire movie was his spin on Yojimbo. The hack suing him will get nothing.

um… does he not know that quentin tarantino and uma thurman worked on the idea of "the bride" when they were filming pulp fiction? this guy is a dumbass.

  4. 4

    Bullshit. Tarantino ruulz!

  5. 5

I thought it was a build on the idea from PULP FICTION Regarding the whole "FOX FORCE 5" thing.

Re: La Garse – Oh, relax! Don't get so worked up over a blog, sweetie. It's ok. Besides, I haven't seen this yet. Glad it was posted. :-)

I really don't know why anyone would want to take credit for the shitty Kill Bill series. Seriously, if it did not have the 'Taratino hype factor' everyone would have dead panned the movies. Instead, the crappy plot and crappy fighting sequences get a cult following. I give Tarantino Resevior Dogs - that was a good film but it has been one POS after another ever since. IB is the worst of the worst - I feel asleep watching that movie on an airplane - that is how bad it was.

    Re: Fat_Bob – I didn't like 'Basterds' either,but Tarantino's movies are far from sh*t..Kill Bill,Pulp Fiction,Reservoir Dogs..ALL of them were great,IMHO.

Kkkkkkk! He can't remember doing that because he was in the pot with "you know who"!

The story of KILL BILL was completely based on the 1968 Truffaut film THE BRIDE WORE BLACK , which is based on a 1940 book by Cornell Woolrich. The story is of a young woman whose husband is shot on the steps of a church on their wedding day. Afterwards she tracks down the 4 men responsible and seeks revenge by masterfully killing them while evading detection. iMBD says that Tarantino claims to have never seen the film, but anyone who has must agree that the story is too similar to be coincidence.

Yeah that guy is stupid. Kill Bill is based off of the movie Lady Snowblood! Kill Bill is like Tarantinos tribute to martial arts & Japenese Yakuza

Hey everyone. I actually read the law suit and read the details.

Plaintiff: Created a character names OREN - a half African American/Japanese character who became the first half black half Japanese Yakuza boss after his family was killed. (also this was a normal movie, however in one scene he witnesses his mother die that happens in a cartoon like sequence.)

Well in Kill Bill its OREN-ISHI - a half Chinese/Japanese character who becomes the first half Chinese half Hapanese Yakuza boss. (She also witnesses her mother die in a cartoon like sequence)

The law suit is online.. you guys can check it out and read it for yourself. I mean I'm no lawyer, but that's what I read.

Don't mean to call any people out on there comments. Just sharing what I know, that is all. Please do not take any offense.
