Oh no!

Andy Whitfield, the star of the HOMOlicious series Spartacus: Blood and Sand, has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma!

Poor thing!! So scary!!

The actor discovered the cancer during a routine check up, and production of the show's second season has been postponed while he undergoes treatment.

According to the Starz network, Whitfield was lucky enough to catch the cancer early, and it is completely treatable.

Phew!

Our thoughts go out to Andy and his family during this difficult time, and we wish him a speedy and painless recovery!!

Wow! It's a good thing he caught it early.

OMG he is so totally hot! Maybe he can give his cancer to Lady Ga Ga so I don`t have to suffer through her crap music and Perez fawning over her every two seconds anymore.

Get well soon. So sorry about the cancer.

Caught early or not so early, this is a disease that stays with you for the duration (15 years or more; sometimes less). It can and will recur periodically. The treatment can be mild or a bit brutal. How do I know? I have/had several friends with it, one of whom just passed away.

Non-Hodkins is much more aggressive than Hodgkins disease…Even though caught early, treatment is very intense.

Naomid, that is a really FUCKED up thing to say about anyone, much less someone who's done you no harm. But Karma will come get you for saying something like that. Sooner or Later. Fucking loser.

Hodgkins is curable. Non- hodgkins means he is f*&ked. I hope you are wrong and it is really Hodgkins..

Re: sparkys nemesis – my cousin had non-hodgkins, and although she is in remission, she has never been the same health wise since she was diagnosed and had horrible side effects from all of her treatment…Sorry to hear about your friend…Very heartbreaking to see someone suffer with this disease, as well as all other cancers.

The two people I knew that had this had a horrible time. Hodgkins is the more treatable cancer.

Let's just wish him well. My husband had non-Hodgkins lymphoma (a very rare kind) and he has been fine for 9 years. On the other hand, I have a very young friend (29) who has hodgkins lymphoma that will just not go away. Every case is different. Healing prayers being sent your way!
