Tell Us A Story, Duffster!

hdwenn5374712.jpg

Once upon a time, there was a retired Disney Channel actress who got engaged to a gazillionaire. She asked herself, "Well, now that I have the prince and all his riches, whatever will I do with myself?"

The answer - become an author!

It's the thing to do these days!

Following in the footsteps of Lauren Conrad, Tori Spelling, and Kate Gosselin, Hilary Duff is dusting the cobwebs off her blondie brain and is penning a series of books for Simon & Schuster Books. Her first project will be a series of youth novels following the "worldwide adventures of photojournalist Clea Raymond." She then intends to move on to series of nonfiction books about kids dealing with their parent's divorce.

Keep that thesaurus handy and happy writing, bb!

things tend to go fairly well for her - wish the best!

  2. 2

She will do better than you Perez

  3. 3

    Well…good for her.

  4. 4

When your career is stalled and going nowhere, write a book.

  5. 5

she surely must have done good things in her lifes…! nice girl!

Hilary Duff seems like an intelligent girl, and I'll give credit where credit is due. Kate Gosselin and Tori Spelling wrote books about themselves and Lauren Conrad basically turned The Hills into a book. At least Hilary Duff is writing something that isn't vapid, vain, and self-indulgent. She's writing books for kids about an intelligent photojournalist (which could be a positive form of entertainment for kids, as opposed to crap books like Twilight and the Gossip Girl books) and books about kids dealing with their parents divorce, which could actually help kids dealing with problems. Good for Hilary!

She doesn't have that long of an attention span. I know what it takes. Note my name

  8. 8

    Her career is going nowhere

  9. 9

Perez… she has way more money than Mike Comrie. Trust me.

  10. 10

I guess Simon and Schuster likes to publish books by washed up has-been famewhores.

Re: joshz88 – I completely agree with you! LC based her books off the Hills, and the rest write Autobiographies about themselves. Hilary is using her time productively on the photojournalist book, and she's using her time to help others cope on the divorce book.

i hate that hobo layered look at that huge bag is ridiculous…and scarves…ugh i just hate this look!

  13. 13

BORING!!! all these celebrities who write? i have more of an imagination!?! damn i wish i was rich and famous! i would definately write! i would write more sci-fi mystery fantasy not stupid lauren conrad safe stories!

  14. 14

Why do would-be has-beens who don't forsee a viable career in acting look to book writing as a means to maintain celebrity? The biggest cliche is becoming a "children's author". Christ, isn't there a better way transition from actress to has-been. It's not like Hilary Duff needs the money.

  15. 15

EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED!!!…someone ELSE'S opinion on how to deal with our own reality. What the heck does she have to enlighten us on divorse?? OVER 1/2 OF AMERICAN MARRIAGES END IN DIVORCE. We should focus on how to keep or get parents backs together, not how to cope without.
I highly doubt she can relate to the average person when handling emotional problems, as most rich people spend money, we commoners have to find other relief as we can't spend money like you hunny. Get over yourself, you have nothing for us.

  16. 16

she looks like hanna montana in that pic

Re: Gmd1982 – Her parents got divorced a few years ago, so she has a right to express her feelings and give advice on how to cope.

  18. 18

Re: Starbella – You can't even spell right, let alone write a book. Plus her book isn't Lauren Conrad material, not even close.

You insinuate that Hillary is dumb by calling her "blondie brain" or bb, yet in your own post you make a couple of common grammatical errors–the most obvious of which is putting the apostrophe after the 's' in a plural possessive noun. parents' not parent's.
Normally I do not care about mistakes like these & don't call people out on them because I'm not a jerk, but when you imply that she's dumb, you should double check your own stupid posts.

Good luck to Hillary though! We love her…

  20. 20

i think she carries her fiance around in that bag! dang, she's so tiny and that thing is huge!

  21. 21

Love her-she seems like a decent person, BUT-why is it every star can be multi-"talented", while others in the acting/singing/writing field can't even seem to catch a break. It sucks that *names* can get ahead in this world…because of their name. Meanwhile so much talent is wasted because they can't seem to get their foot in a door.

  22. 22

I love Hil. Why? Because she stays out of the rumor mill, aside from her engagement. We don't have to read every week in Star about which party she crashed or who she tried to sleep with at 2 a.m…like quite a few starlets we know. She has a lot of self respect and she deserves the best! At least she never once whined about how terrible and awful it has been for her…she's a real person, not fake at all.

  23. 23

Wow! That pic barely looks like her! Nice to see what money can make you look like!

  24. 24

    Re: Gmd1982 – HELL YEAH!

  25. 25

I love her, always have. She was my role model, and im happy that shes doing great things
And i have a feeling that miley will go in the footsteps of hilary.
Lindsay Hohan can suck it!! ahhahaha

  26. 26

You can say that she is the only celebrity that stay out of drugs and all those stupid things! She's a very good role model! Love Hilary!

  27. 27

    Awesome! Good luck! :D

  28. 28

Well…at least its not a tell-all. She's always been a smart girl, so good for her. =]

  29. 29

I'm pretty sure that she makes 10 times what her hockey player fiance does…
