Longtime Fox drama 24 has been cancelled!!!

Most likely cancelled, that is.

The studio is remaining mum, but insiders believe the network will be making the announcement of the cancellation any day now!

Although 24 has always been a huge success for Fox in the past, the ratings for the show's current season (number 8!) have been tumbling down into obscurity quicker than ever.

Sad!

But cheer up Jack Bauer-philes - a 24 feature film is in the works!

Reports say the script has Kiefer Sutherland's character traveling to Europe in the film.

We only hope he brings Chloe along with him!!!

My best friend & her mom are going to be devastated if this is is true. 24 still has a solid following, it's just too expensive to keep up at Fox. That's what I hear anyway.

The show sucks really bad this year, so yes it is time to put this show to rest as well as Heroes!

You also shouldn't post as Cancelled in header line as fact,when it is not confirmed yet.

I like the show, but this season is bad, same thing every week. And sometimes I think I'm going to puke if I hear Jack start shouting at someone again. And the plot just drags on and on. Show should be doing more with Jack & Renee. And more with President Taylor by the great Cherry Jones.

I love Kiefer. LOVE LOVE LOVE him! But I stopped watching '24' after the 4th season. It just became the same show every year. But I am STOKED that it's going to movie status. Can't wait to see him on the big screen again. KIEFER IS ONE SEXY MO-FOE!

I just started watching it!! So it's new to me. I like it. But I can see if every year is alike, it could get boring. But it is probably more about money. It's just too expensive to make, and 8 years is a long time to do the same thing.

Awesome show but time to wrap it up. Hard to get excited year over year with the world held in the balance it is the same ending every year with Jack Bauer the savior saving us all. Played out and toast…. That said I will pay to see the movie.

Umm it's not a question of ratings for IF it does get cancelled, it is about money. The show is just too expensive, and Kiefer (the highest payed actor on TV) is due for a raise if they go for a 9th Season. I love 24, and I love this season (accept for the Dana/Jenny storyline…although now it is finally getting good)

i hope they make the last 12 even better
at least we have movies coming

and its NOT doing so bad in ratings still above 8 million and in top 10 in online and dvr. thats the problem. but ratings dont matter anyway, its all about the cost. almost 5 million per episode.

I missed entirely the previous season and now that I'm watching this season, it gets canceled!! or well… most likely to be canceled.

DO NOT CANCEL IT! its 24! the only only only show i consistently watch.. Jack Bauer is the man and this show must live on.. it would be ridiculous to cancel in the middle of the season, at least finish this season out for gosh sakes! Keep it going and finish it well. I own every single season, 1-7, on DVD and would like to own the 8th so finish the season out, thankk youu!

Dolly Parton To Earn A Fortune Off Of Whitney Houston's Death

We're sure she isn't happy about it, and would much rather Whitney be alive, but Dolly Parton is poised to earn a lot of money off of the post-humous sales of I Will Always Love You.

Unfortunately, not much of anything will go to Whitney's estate, as she didn't write any of her own songs.

Here's what insiders are saying:

"She was broke -- her label gave her advances. And unlike Michael, you have to remember that Whitney didn't write any of those massive hits. They were songs that Clive Davis told her to sing and she did."

"On records, the typical mechanical royalty paid to the writer/publisher is about 8 cents per radio performance. That would all go to Dolly. Whitney is only the singer. She receives an advance from the record company based upon anticipated album sales. Figure that's around $2.00 per album. But all of the costs to record the album, promote the album, videos, etc. are all recouped from the artist's share."

"Whitney was living off of advances -- loans from the record company -- and had been [for] quite some time. Most likely the estate owes the record company a ton and future sales will be used to pay back that loan before any money goes to the estate. The songwriters, however, will make a bundle."

That's a major bummer, but completely understandable. We're sorry that she was in such financial distress, but that was the reality of it.

We're expecting to see major numbers from her older catalogue as well, so when those numbers are in we'll have a better idea of how much money is coming in due to her untimely passing!

We miss you, Whitney!
