The body of actor Corey Haim was discovered overnight in Los Angeles - tragically dead.

According to the LAPD, Haim died of an apparent drug overdose.

He is best known for his role in the iconic '80s film The Lost Boys. But, in recent years, he was best known for his struggles with drug addiction.

Corey was just 38 years old.

So sad.

I feel bad.. I was a fan, loved his movies. It is really sad what drugs do to people.. why can't people just stay away from them, just never take that first hit? I am glad that Corey is at least at peace now and no longer struggling with his demons. He was a good guy. RIP.

More people die from motor vehicle accidents, tobacco and alcohol then illegal drugs.
      *
People only die from the actual drugs because they are impure and cut with shady chemicals to make profits bring it all out in the open and end this bullshit of making people criminals for enjoying themselves.
      *
PUT LIVES AHEAD OF LAW AND ORDER BULLSHIT.
      *
The war against drugs has done nothing good its just made drugs dangerous and life threatening because people don't know what they are cut with.
      *
If it was legal people would know whats in it and how much they can take without killing themselves.
      *
HARM MINIMIZATION IS THE SMART WAY TO GO!

    22. 122

I am really sick of the hollywood overdose deaths as well. These people need to get a grip on their personal lives and quit letting hollywood chew them up and spit them out. It is just sad.

    23. 123

Hey idiots that post on here that can't believe that another person died. There are about 150,000 or so people, that die each day. It is not such a big deal.

    24. 124

Re: SammiDe – Stoppit! Love me some Buck. :)
I only wanted to discuss the drug war with Buck because Buck seems a bit confused. That's all.
Instead Buck just blows me off. And it hurts.

    25. 125

You could plaster his poster all over the world and say… DRUGS KILL and addicts still won't pay attention. Very sad and I hate to say this … I'm suprised he lasted as long as he did. Mackenzie Phillips must be a brick wall to remain alive as long as she has.

    38. 138

I am so fucking pissed, he was a huge talent who ruined his career years ago due to the drugs and now it took his life. When will people wake the fuck up and get help? How many more people have to die?

      *
The Myth of Marijuana's Gateway Effect is just that a myth. Study after study has shown that.
      *
The actual gateway affect is shown in study after study to be that those who use any drugs and enjoy themselves no longer believe the message put out by authorities.
      *
Those who drink underage are more likely to use "illegal" drugs.
      *
I wasn't talking about pot but I do say legalize them all and do quality control to save lives.

Re: buck – LOL! Well ok. Do you really fucking know people who's lives have been fucked up by smoking marijuana?
Because I have smoked weed for my fucking entire adolescent and adult life and (other that being a fucking stupid liberal) I'm not fucked up am I? You don't think that of me do you Buck? I'm well educated and have always held down good jobs. I own a home Buck!
What do you mean lives fucked up?

    45. 145

Re: Indrid Cold – I, myself, am an inspiring actress and what you said really effected me. Instead of trying to jump into the buisness now, I am deciding to do somemore theater and wait a little longer. The buisness is an illusion and nothing is as it seems. Corey Haim was amazingly talented and had an insane future in acting until he discovered drugs and from the early '90s till his death today he was addicted. Corey Feldman got clean within three years of getting addicted all by himself and he's the one who believes children shouldn't be in the buisness. You gotta wonder what would've happened if Corey Haim had just listened to Corey Feldman when he put together that intervention or if that one person who didn't think they could help him had tried. Corey Feldman said he wouldn't give up hope on Corey Haim until Haim stopped breathing and Corey Feldman never gave up on him.

Re: buck – This website sucks to talk on. I know, Buck too much all at once.
Well criminals and thugs are in charge right now. I say by legalizing at least marijuana the power will be taken away from them. By selling marijuana as we do alcohol and cigarettes and taxing it heavily not only do we take away their power but make lots of extra tax money on a state level. There are so many alcohol and tobacco related deaths and ZERO deaths from weed. Honestly don't you think it's stupid? Open up your mind a little and think about it. I'm taking you under my wing Buck. :)

      Re: buck
      *
Amsterdam shows that when you legalize it use actually goes down.
      *
I think it should be legalized.. Here in Australia they stated in the earlier 80's giving out free clean needles and they cut the spread of aids to the lowest level in the OECD then they opened legal injecting rooms so drug users can do there drugs in a clean and safe environment which slashed the number of OD's as there are medical professionals on hand to treat those that had bad reactions.
      *
Right now the head of the national ambulance association is calling for drug legalization he says that if people new what they where taking there wouldn't be any drug deaths.

    59. 159

So sad…yet another STAR to lose their battle… He had SUCH potential… R.I.P.

    60. 160

Re: Aussieone – Indeed! Most people who come to Amsterdam think everyone is high 24/7, but it's actually the tourists who buy and use the most. Once it's legal, it kind of loses its appeal. I smoked marijuana a couple of times, but the effect is lost on me. Didn't make me want to try something stronger either. And like you said, there is no connection between using soft drugs and then moving on to hard drugs. As for Corey, it's sad but not the biggest of surprises.

    61. 161

Re: buck – wtf? umm marijuana and cocaine are not the same thing dude. Please learn your drugs.

    62. 162

I WONDER IF VICTORIA BECKHAM WILL FEEL ABOUT THIS? SHE DID USED TO DATE HIM FOR A WHILE BACK, EVEN THOUGH SHE ENDED IT WITH HIM ON BAD TERMS. HE MAY HAVE BEEN A HOMOPHOBE (WHICH SHE IS AGAINST), BUT I WONDER IF SHE'LL STILL MAYBE CRY FOR HIM.

    63. 163

Re: Aussieone – Yeah right! I'd be the size of a HOUSE!
Been here the whole time just had to go do some stuff.

    64. 164

Re: buck – Anyway, in one of your posts you said you will do anything to keep pot away from your kids. The only thing you can do is educate them. If they are going to do it they will do it. Better sold from a regulated store like liquor and cigarettes than from the schoolyard wouldn't you say? If kids want something they will get it but it is actually easier now that marijuana prohibition is in place. Because it isn't regulated!
And if they did try pot should they go to jail for it? People are still being locked up for PLANTS. But drinking a liter of vodka is legal? Eating 20 fast food burgers is legal? Smoking 2 packs of cigs a day is legal? It doesn't make any sense, don't you see? Everything Aussie posted is FACT. Believe it.

    65. 165

Re: giorgio85 – Please learn to spell before you post, you really look like an illiterate piece of trash like your idol Lohan. "Your" and "you're" are 2 different things. I guess they didn't teach you that in the trailer park. Either that or you are always too busy on your knees in front of your father. Isn't that right, fat boy?

    66. 166

I loved him back in the 80's! Thought he was so freakin cute! He's had drug problems for yrs, was molested , not a great life, when one's been hurt like that many turn to PRESCRIPTION drugs, I take them LEGALLY and as prescribed, sadly I need to take them, but please pep's if you are on a controlled substance be careful, there are a LOT of doc's out there that will give pretty much anyone ANYTHING they want to keep them coming back esp celebrities! I watched a season of that show he did w/ corey feldman and it was just too painful to watch. I really wish someone would've gotten him help, i know Feldman tried-I bet he is pretty devasted right now…… R.I.P Corey Haim

    67. 167

      Re: Brainbug

Listen you disgusting piece of trash. I happen to speak 6 languages, you can't even speak one. I could give a fuck about Lindsay Lohan, yet I am disgusted by trash like you spewing hate every day about people you do not know. Your a abomination to human kind. And I hope you or your family get yours real soon, so that you learn some humility and some manners.

I work in this business and have for over 7 years, I find it hilarious that so many of you can be so fucking heartless. No matter in the entertainment industry or elsewhere we are all still human beings. We all bleed, we all feel and we all live.

    68. 168

It's interesting to me how many people act like over dosing only happens in Hollywood. It happens everyday in every state. Celebrities are the only ones that the media cares to mention. RIP Corey. I am sure he is better off now then when alive.

I liked him in the Lost Boys…I did not like his evolution into a junkie / prescription drug abuser. That was not impressive. I saw send the junkies over to the orphan villages in africa, let them detox there for a while, they can get a little perspective on things: ie "your north american privileged life ain't so bad, stop being so damn selfish ,quit drugs once and for all, and do something good for the world." Guess Haim just couldn't quit it!

    86. 186

Am I the only one who giggled a little by seeing that photo? "I'm ready to work, I'm ready to make amends"? Bitch, please, you don't have a career anymore, it's not like you quit and people are begging you to come back. Well, that's what I would've thought, if he hadn't died..

    89. 189

I'm really so sad over this. I was a huge fan of Corey's back in his hay-day, and I watched "The Two Corey's" diligently. I never liked Corey F, thinking he always treated Corey H with disrespect and was hardly a friend to him. Not surprised to see him rush the the tv for interviews barely after Corey had passed. The only reason I watched their show was to see Corey H and I would hope after each show that the next one would show him getting help. He seemed to have been trying in the last while, but I guess it wasn't enough. I'm sure him having a stroke years ago didn't help anything. It's just so sad when young stars die. When anyone young dies!
R.I.P Corey. Hope you have finally found peace.
