Haim Was Still Alive When EMTs Arrived At His Apartment
This is just awful.
We've just learned that Corey Haim was still alive when emergency personnel arrived at his apartment building this morning.
Ed Winter, the Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner, says that upon arrival, the actor was in bed and conscious, but weak and complaining of flu-like symptoms.
He was then rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:30am.
An autopsy is set to be performed to determine what the exact cause of death was, but the general consensus is that Haim died of an accidental overdose of prescription medication.
So, so sad.

Its very easy to accidentally OD if your on prescription pills. Depending on your tolerance level and the effectiveness of the drug.
Not all pills are like Advil (take 2) for headache. Some doctors don't even tell you because your tolerance level will change.
Your tolerance can change from a week or two from using a pill daily at the dosage recommended. Thus, making people want to take more to get the same feeling, and sometimes this leads to an accident.
Many people die from prescription drugs but you don't hear about them because they aren't famous.
This is truly horrible sad. It was a great actor and seemed like a great man with a lot of personal demons. I can't believe he's gone. RIP.
A shame, but is anyone really surprised? He was such a good looking young man and had a bright future. Just further proof that drugs are not good…he looked like shit in his last couple of years. What a waste.
So sad…you always hope that people who have had a past such as his will come out on the winning end… But, you kind of see it coming… It's just odd that he, like Britney Murphy, were both complaining of flu-like symptoms, as well as had assorted medications around them… I always had SUCH a crush on him in the 80's… Such a shame…

this is so sad, another hollywood tragedy caused by carelessness and overindulgence. he was a great actor when he had his shizz together, but it just goes to show that no one is perfect and everyone has their demons. its just so sad the way some ppl cant control them and how they dont get the help they need and fall into the trap…RIP and my prayers are with his family at this very sad time.

this is such a shame. so so sad that it finally happened. we all probably took a big gasp when we read this (just like i did), but then you realize, well you can't be surprised. Everybody knew he had his drug issues. Hopefully he's at peace now.

Little did you know, on that little ride that he was faking his way over to the hospitial on, HE WAS ACTUALLY DEAD. And yes, his mother came and visited him….so did his brothers, sisters, dad, and three kids because he was prounced dead. What is like to be such an ass at the same time that his three beautiful kids are having their heart broken because their father is dead. And look, you even managed to add a "Jacko" in there.
