Lady GaGa finally released the UNREAL music video extravaganza that is Telephone last night, and we were floored once again with her ability to infuse social commentary into her stylized, high concept clips!!

It was like watching what would happen if Thelma & Louise met up with Quentin Tarantino going WILD at a rave in the desert, and then started talking about post-modernity and existentialism over coffee afterward!!

Well, we weren't too off-base, because our beloved wifey is talking about the concept behind her video, as well as HOW she got Tarantino's seal of approval…and his Pussy Wagon!!

"There was this really amazing quality in 'Paparazzi,' where it kind of had this pure pop music quality but at the same time it was a commentary on fame culture. In its own way, even at certain points working with Jonas [Åkerlund, the director of both videos] really achieved this high art quality in the way that it was shot. I wanted to do the same thing with this video—take a decidedly pop song, which on the surface has a quite shallow meaning, and turn it into something deeper. There certainly is a Tarantino-inspired quality in the video. I mostly love the way he uses different forms to create something new. His direct involvement in the video came from him lending me the Pussy Wagon. We were having lunch one day in Los Angeles and I was telling him about my concept for the video and he loved it so much he said, 'You gotta use the Pussy Wagon.'"

    I have to say, I was getting really tired of your constant praising Gaga, but this time, I have to agree with you on all accounts. The Telephone video made me fall in love with Gaga. She never goes for the obvious. She didn't resort to making a video about dancing in a club with her cellphone ringing non-stop, even though that's what her song is about. My reaction after watching it was, omg, she's like the new Michael Jackson, making revolutionary music videos that are in fact short movies. Telephone picked up where Paparazzi left off and I can't wait to see what Gaga has in store for her little monsters in her next video!!!!
